Your parents have certain legal requirements for the health and welfare of their children. I am not sure what the legal age is for Maine but many states consider 18 to be the "adult" age.

If they are ousting you due to your behavior, they can use the reasoning of concerns for the welfare of your siblings or even themselves.

Talk to a school counselor or someone of that nature to help you.

I don't know the laws where you live, but where I live if you are 16, and have a way of making income, you can get kicked out. I must warn you that things aren't a non stop party on your own... You are responsible for cleaning the whole house. You are responsible for all the laundry. You are responsible for groceries. Most importantly... You are responsible for paying the bills, which means. On top of all those things, you have to go out and work. You also have responsibilities at work as well.
You have it easy at your parents place even if they ask you to do a fair bit... Fly straight, and appreciate your parents.

Depends on why they are kicking you out. If you have done something illegal, they have the right to turn you in not just kick you out. In Indiana they have juvenile centers for such situations. If you go to an official, counselor or someone, at school and tell them the situation, they can either help you get out or help you figure out the problem. Make sure you know what you are doing before you do it. If you are trying to get kicked out, be careful. My oldest son did it when he was 16 and when he tried to join the military, he tried them all, he had had mandatory counseling and they said he had anger management problems with authority. Ruined his chance to be in the Army, something he has wanted to do since he was 3 years old.

First what is the legal age limit for a minor? In TX it is 17. So we could kick a 17 year old out. Look into it.

In the USA, you are a minor until you are 18. So, no, they can't. But why are you making their lives hell? At age 17, you should know how to be responsible and helpful in a family unit. You should be in school, doing your best, and working somewhere after school and on weekends. Can you name one thing that you are doing to be a decent person to live with????

you need to check out the laws in your state. where i live if a kid at 16 can prove they can take care of their self's then they can live on they're own. you must have done something bad for your parents to go that far as to kicking you out. good luck.

Are you such a bad *** or are you trying to get yourself kicked out for profit and pleasure. The world out there is no better than your house, only the bosses change, you still have to do what you are told.

There are laws however against child neglect

If you are a b*m then they can do what they want, why dont you get a job or an education and get you own place.
