I understand the right of gay people to marry - Canadian law has allowed it. However, is it not unfair for the children the adopt (or have) to have to grow up in two-father or two-mother families? Similar to single parent families, wouldn't these kids be disadvantaged for not having a father and a mother?

Can't provide links but I've heard of many lawsuits where they are based on a person suing a person, company or state for getting their feelings hurt. Is that the reason for consolation prizes and paying just for fun at sporting events?

It's everywhere... the sign of communism plagues our streets and minds. The offensive insignia of stuck up, Im-better-than-jews boogers is flashing all over the place. It tells us to stop, it tells us "no!" This color is an affront to the human race (and jews), and it offends me, it offends my partner and it offends my pet balboa "pinky." Help?!?!

Some lady is suing the studio where an oprah show was being filmed because she was pushed and fell while audience members were rushing to their seats, or going to their seats. She wants more than 50,000 in damages, the funny thing is that they don't mention what kind of injuries she received. Most likely a bruised knee. Anything for money I guess.

My landlord allows a five day grace period for rent. Earlier today she put a five day notice on my door as I hadn't paid the rent. It's not that I don't have it, I wrote her the check as soon as she came over. I rarely use my front door and did not see the notice. Since legally I have until midnight to pay my rent, can she do this? She told me the notice would stay in effect until my check clears, which it will. I just feel as if she has been looking for reasons to evict me. The last couple of weeks she kept saying it smelled like cat urine and blaming me. Three out of the four apartments in the building have cats. I have a lot of problems with my upstairs neighbor and I often am made to feel guilty when not doing anything wrong. For instance, she's always complaining about my music which isn't that loud. The managers have been up there and the police have been called during the middle of the afternoon and she was told it wasn't that loud. Yet I am asked to keep it down...

If you are on section 8, and not working, (like the man above) or not on social security (his mother was before she died) what do you do? My friends son recently lost his mother, they lived on section 8 for year because she was on social security and disabled. This man who lost his mother is left to live in the Sec 8 apartment. he has no money (he's months from being 18) and there is no family to help him. What can he do, to help him get on his feet. He hasn't even learned to drive yet, there is no money, he's just left with a sec 8 apartment and still has to finish high school. This is in Southern Indiana. Anyone got any advice on how he can stay in this apartment with being almost 17, and not having anyone else to live with (like family) His mother left him no money, and there wasn't an insurance policy. (There was no money to leave him) What can he do? Will he get kicked out of the apartment? (which would leave him homeless)

I am 23 years old woman, and my sister is 12 for the past 2 years of her middle school life she has been harassed. She is a white girl in a predominantly Arab-American school. My parents have spoke with the prinicpal and with other authorities and they are giving them the run around. The girls would speak in Arabic so my sister would not understand (the few friends she has that are arab tell her that she is being made fun of) and they would call her names. They would call her fat, smelly, ugly or whatever comes to their minds. My sister is none of the above and is a very smart student. My sister also does not want to go to school anymore. Just today my father had went to the school to see my sister options and they called the cops on him. This is not justied at all. They called the cops because my father become mad when once again they gave him the run around and he yelled. My father is not a dangerous man, but wants his word to be heard. The school is unfair.

In a small claim court, I guess you have to fill out the defendant's information. However, if you don't know where are they staying now except for their phone # & they changed it, what can you do? If you pursue with your lawsuit anyway & that person never receive the court notice or whatever, then what will happen? Will that still show on their record?

Ok so, i think oj is guilty of murder,....... unfortunatly he was found not guilty...so how come if he was found not guilty in court, he was found liable for the deaths in a civil suit and now has to pay 30 mill dollars. I don't understand the justice system. If he was found not guilty of murder charges, how can he be held liable for the deaths?

If you have a small claim case, that is damages less than 5K (i think that's the small claim limit) but you're not sure on how to handle it & want to get a lawyer. However, since a lawyer can't represent u in small claim court, can u take it to a civil court & sue the defendant for the atrorney fee?
