I am 23 years old woman, and my sister is 12 for the past 2 years of her middle school life she has been harassed. She is a white girl in a predominantly Arab-American school. My parents have spoke with the prinicpal and with other authorities and they are giving them the run around. The girls would speak in Arabic so my sister would not understand (the few friends she has that are arab tell her that she is being made fun of) and they would call her names. They would call her fat, smelly, ugly or whatever comes to their minds. My sister is none of the above and is a very smart student. My sister also does not want to go to school anymore. Just today my father had went to the school to see my sister options and they called the cops on him. This is not justied at all. They called the cops because my father become mad when once again they gave him the run around and he yelled. My father is not a dangerous man, but wants his word to be heard. The school is unfair.

Have he carry a tape recorder and have her turn it on when she is having problems. Document every incident with dates and times and tell your Dad to quit going to the School and go see a good Lawyer. Have him start a Civil lawsuit when your sister get enough evidence. GOOD LUCK!

Kids are so cruel. You have to do something, so your sister does not lose her self esteam and lose interest in school.
If the principle will not do anything, then I would go to the school board and complain. Also, LEAVE A PAPER TRAIL! Document everything! Who, when and what was said and done.
Or you could take the dramatic approach, and start a picket at the school or contact your local news station. I know in Detroit (where I live, as well as have one of the biggest arab armerican population) they have several reporters that would love a story like this. I feel bad for your sister, I hope she is stronge and will make it out of this ok.

That is very sad for your sister. I don't think anything can be done if the school won't listen to complaints. The best thing would be to report the school authorities to a Human Rights group, try to make it very public. Arabs aren't very popular right now, so I think if you went to a newsspaper with this story the school would be afraid of the publicity. Your father isn't helping if he loses his temper. Your sister should change schools. Sorry.

This is obviously an environment that the whole family must leave immediately! Try a different school.

If that is not possible, take legal action. Hire a lawyer, and file a law suit. According to what I have read, the behavior expressed towards your little sister and your family is unacceptable. It must be stopped, or there must be a way to stay away from it.

All unlawful aliens might desire to be deported. No excuses, and who cares what the latino caucus in California does or says, all of us know they are all a gaggle of l. a. raza racists besides. The deportations of unlawful aliens from the US southwest interior the 1st a million/2 of the final century have been the wonderful element that ever occurred to the states, and the country. if you want this problem solved pronto inform the superintendant that your lawyer will contact them about allowing this harrassment to continue then call one. Consultations are almost always free & one call from your lawyer should do the trick. Could you let us know what happens? This is supposed to be the years your sister enjoys the most don't let anyone take that from her. Whatever she does tell her not to use ethnic slurs toward them or your parents case will be null & void

yes get a lawyer or write a complaint to the authority that looks at such situations.

i doubt seeking help from the school helps because they probably want to save their face and what not. ignore them. use authorities, but make sure you ask the right ones. because at times the police does not want to do this kind of stuff, they always think it is something normal in schools. i seriously don't understand why do people think it is normal to bully others. it is never normal, and never will be.

Make a complaint enumerating all the acts of harassments commited against your sister. File the complaint with the proper government agency since the school is not acting on your grievances.

I would hire an attorney to investigate the matter from a civil rights stand-point. I guarantee a lawyer will get their attention and show that your family is very serious about addressing this egregiously negative situation with your sister. Bullying is unacceptable! Period.
