Why can't we (my husband and I) have Due Process? Why can't we have a trial by jury? We don't mind if our "neglect" charge is made public because what they said is so ridiculous the Public would laugh at it.

My brother was jumped in the laundry room of a prison by 4 guys. He was beaten on his back, neck, and head. His eye was punched so hard that his retina is detached from his eye. He will need to have surgery and we feel the prison should pay for it. Its going to cost around $7000. Oh, I forgot to say "THERE WERE NO GUARDS AROUND". How can anyone suppose to be safe in prison, if the guards aren't even paying attention to the inmates?

n the rights of a minor in school if u have been told u must write an statment that is true or u will be arrested is that a threat or any thing else in the poadical law?

I agree with legal immigration, but there are some questions/issues with it that I don't know the answer to...

1.) How much can a land support? Will the U.S. eventually turn into a third world country?

2.) More immigrants means more oppurtunity for drug dealers, terrorists, and other criminals...

3.) Immigrants consume a high amount of government resources...

4.) Less-skilled americans are losing jobs to the immigrants...

Any ideas or answers would be appreciated...

My father put a restraining order on my boyfriend after he kicked me out of the house and sent me to my aunts 208 miles away. He and my aunt failed to tell me about this rstraining order and im wondering if there is any way i can have it reversed when i turn 18? I am currently 4 months pregnant. I turned 21 in Oct. and didnt get my license renewed because well...i guess i was being lazy. While i was driving my boyfriend to work with my son in the backseat, i stopped for a bus (on a backroad). Kids got off the bus and the bus drivers "stop" sign was still flashing. I was behind the bus...well when i was stopped and waiting..a women came up behinde me and rear ended my car. i didnt hit the bus...my car just spun out of control and she smashed my break lights in and my trunk is smashed a bit as well. she was driving her mom and dads car with liability insurance. i on the other hand discontinued insurance on my car so was without. is there any case for me out of this or am i just simply screwed? my mom says call a lawer to see if i can get anything out of it b/c people are suposed to carry non insured cars insurance????? what do you think?
my son and i were fine, along with my boyfriend. all checked by the EMT's. my blood pressure was a bit high.

Because the Supreme Court basically stated that a fetus is not a person. I am not for abortion. However, legally speaking, this is true, no?

*Roe Vs Wade was based partially upon a person's right to privacy. In this case it JUST HAPPENED TO BE WOMEN. And it was partially based upon the assumption that the world of science, theology and such have not come upon the time at which a fetus becomes a person, under the law and otherwise. Which supports that abortion is fully legal throughout the nine months of a women's pregnancy. Although, many believe it is not moral.

Assuming someone has never been arrested before, how would they choose a defense attorney after they have been arrested, detained, or brought in for questioning? They're in a jail cell or at a police station , and assuming they can afford a good attorney and will not use a public defender, how would they choose a defense attorney? Especially when they only have one phone call? No one answered this question the first time I asked it.

I've recently book a ton of "how to make money" ebooks, and noticed several of them contain the exact same "secret" ideas. Is this because a general idea or concept (like how to make money, for example) cannot be copyrighted or protected?

For example, if I wanted to take the ideas from all the ebooks I bought and make my OWN ebook with the ideas (while putting the ideas in my own words, of course), is that allowed?

I was living in an apartment I wanted to move but I had like 8 months. One of my friends wanted a place so I told him if he could take over my lease. Now my apartment doesnt let people take over your lease so I just moved out and he moved in, he and his roomate pay me money every month and I pay rent. Okay things were fine for 6 months until last month he quit his job he acted like rent would be paid anyway and said not to worry. His roomate gave my so-called friend his share and he gave it to me and said hed give me the rest when rent had to be paid. Now it 3 days late and this guy has not paid me, I went over to the apartment cause his phones shut off and said hey man can you pay me and he gave me like one third of what he owes me and got real billigerent and told me to "Quit crying," I just had pectoral surgery a month ago otherwise I would beat his ace and throw him out. He claims hell pay me tommorow but I can tell I will have further problems in the future, what should I do
