Try to be careful to not emotionally harm the child in the process...more that what has already been done....but it sounds like you need to go past the police and go to your children's protection agency. You did not state what relationship you have with the child, but it is clear that you are very concerned. As the process unfolds it is very important that the child is supported, and that people in this child's life make sure that this child can still be a child..have fun, be loved, and not have this be the main focus on his or her being. Remember, as it is important the the abuser, if this is found to be fact, is punished, and other children protected form the abuser, the child surviving this with the least amount of trauma possible is very important.

The main thing is don't give up. Document every detail of every incident and it may take time unfortunately but if you keep a record you will have a better chance of prosecution. Look for local organizations for help/support. Continue to work with the police and try to be calm and rational with them and eventually someone should listen if you are right. Let the child know that you support them and keep an open line of communiction with them. Good luck.

The child needs to go to the school psychologist, guiadance councilor, teacher, principal, etc. They are obligated to report and this to the proper authorities and perhaps it will carry more weight coming from them. Persistence pays off, keep telling the proper authority figures. Maybe keep a journal of everything.
