I'm a smoker myself (please don't preach to me, I'm planning on quitting) - but why are cigarettes even legal in the first place? Hasn't someone tried to do something about this? It seems so obvious - they cause countless deaths per year..

There's been about 1,000 capital punishments (death penalties carried out) in the US since 1976.
There's been about 44,605,523 abortions in the US since 1976.
Which one needs to increase and which one needs to decrease?

I am an employer who recently hired an employee who evidently has had some troubles in his life. We have direct depsit in our faciltiy and he has been refused at several banks at being able to open up a simple savings account. There has to be a good reason for someone to be refused even this the simplest of things in life to do.

I hurt my knee, will it still hurt tomorrow?
got kicked at work today, on my right knee, very bottom of the knee cap towards the left hand side. I saw a doctor, got ex-rays everything looks fine. He said take ibprofen ice it several times a day for 15 min, elevate it, and rest for seven days!!! Is it going to
hurt for seven days??!!! It feels stiff and its a very dull pain. Will it hurt tomorrow? Will it be really sore tomorrow? Does that mean I can't work? Do I need to call in? How much pain should I be in to call in? I don't want to hurt it worse. What do you think is wrong with it?

I would Like to get into politics as our goverment does not seem to have enought balls to care for the Australian people.
The goverment is thinking of Taxing Rain water collected from your gutters and I know for a Fact that some Counsells are allready doing it in the Latrobe Valley area, thay send you your water bill with an estimated amount of water your tank should have collected and then charge you so much for that water.
The water board have nothing to do with water collected from your roof or putting pipes under ground so thay should keep there noses out of your back yard.
When perchassing water tanks make sure you dont give out your address to where it will be instalIed. Because that will be the goverments and counsells next step to find out who has got water tanks.
Nature provides rain to be collected then let it be it saves water being used from the catchment areas.

What are the laws regarding shipping responsibilities? I purchased an item from a online store and FedEx tracking said’s the item was delivered and left at the door, however, their was no package. I did not even see or hear the truck and they never knocked.
I contacted the company I purchased from and they said to contact FedEx, which I did.
From looking at the FedEx site, either I or the shipper can make a claim but any claim settlement would goto the shipper. Why am I to file a claim so the shipper gets the settlement but I’m out my money?
I know there are certain laws about who’s responsible till the item exchanges hands and so forth but cannot find them.

They have dismissed the case, but it is without prejudice. Can they possibly sue me again even though the whole case was settled and paid? Is there any way I can make them dismiss the case with prejudice? What protective measures can I do so they will abide by the settlement? Thank you!
