Donald Trump came across as exceptionally smug, obnoxious and narcissistic, all attributes that he personally admires in himself and which nauseate more thoughtful minds. He may be business savvy, but he resorted to the most naive counterarguments against Rosie O'Donnell. Any 'adequate' high school debater knows that an ad hominem attack (retorting the logic of an argument by assaulting the person rather than addressing the issue) is a serious technical foul.

It is interesting that, rather than debate the central claim that he is or is not a 'moral compass' by providing evidence of his good deeds, he instead decided to focus his counterattack on her weight, her homosexuality, and her personality. Has he absolutely no sense of the emotional weight of his words on overweight teenage girls, or on young men who want to emulate his success, and who inevitably will adopt his superficial attitude toward vulnerable women already suffering low self-esteem about their appearance? Is this not demonstration enough of his wayward moral compass, which is what Rosie accused him of to begin with?

A lawsuit? Please. His was an impulsive, venomnous assault to an astute and outspoken comedianne who gets paid to give her subjective 'view' of popular culture. She was completely within the job descriptions of her character on the show. Donald Trump has eagerly played the role of a media-starved business tycoon for decades now, so he is fair-game for the spontaneous dialogue that The View was designed for by his friend Barbara Walters. Rosie is neither a professional journalist who is paid to present objective facts without bias, nor a corporate foe with an agenda related to knowingly disrupting his business interests for her personal profit. I cannot therefore see for the life of me how he would have any basis for a lawsuit; if so, she has an equal basis to sue him for slander.

In fact, I see more potential for a successful lawsuit filed against Donald Trump because his comments were clearly and deliberately designed to impair her career as an entertainer by miring her public reputation, whereas he is not an entertainer and her comments were only indirectly about his business affairs.

So a writer writes a book and gets it published. Months later, a person from his/her past drags him/her to court, claiming, "That was my idea, you plagiarized MY book!", a book that, to the writer's knowledge, was never written. The writer uses his/her Fifth Amendment right, but also contemplates asking for an attorney. Since the writer isn't saying anything, is there a way s/he would still be incarcerated somehow?

I have a friend that works at a well known company and she does not get any type of breaks, including toilet breaks, for her whole shift. The duty member of staff there has said that because she does not smoke she does not need a break. Also this friend is told she has to go to work even if really ill as they cant be bothered to find some body to cover her shift. I am really worried about my friend as she can be doing between 6 and 16 hours a day and still no breaks are given to her. For a toilet break she has to walk off the shop floor and leave the shop open to theift. The c.a.b have told me it is againts the law but the company decides on what breaks are allowed and for how many hours worked.

in most country's why isn't it properly vetted by police and health authority's after all the illegal operation of the world of prostitution has never gone away and is a breeding ground for a whole host of low-life activity's it makes good sense to de-criminalize it just for getting rid of the worst side of it alone ie:pimps and heroin dealers

I have a friend who threathens to take out a lawsuit against me .He claims that I am not supporting him in a situation I do not want to get involved in and in return because I said" count me out as a friend" he is completely 'counting me out and to show me how he is taking out a lawsuit against me". I have told him I will countersue": so far no papers have arrived for a claim . I just called him to wish him" Merry Xmas" . I left a message on his voicemail and it is his daughter's birthday so I said "happy birthday also". He just wants money from me now . I feel he is "extorting money". All in all the friendship is dificult to repair without awarding him some money to make him feel good. He has alot of money ,so I do not know why more money will make things better.
As the New Year approaches I do not want to have this thing lingering over me.
How can I offer and "olive branch of peace" without having to pay some money to make him feel better. I feel he is manipulating the situation.

Consider this scenario. The National Front (an extreme Nazi-style right wing group) blow up a mosque. There are 500 mortalities and many hundred wounded including women and children. Around 70% of these people are 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants - i.e. people born in the UK. Would this be classed as an act of terrorism, or as a hate crime? Would the National Front be listed as a terrorist organisation?

Because of the crime associated with them (excluding morality and health issues)?

As I see it, the black market was created by the government when it chose to ban instead of regulate recreational drugs. The crime associated with it would then be a derivative of that decision, and easily thwarted with goverment regulation (you don't see bootleggers running around anymore, do you?).

Many people also say that it's because people are on drugs they commit crimes, but alcohol has been present in just about every crime ever committed, but it is still legal (never mind caffiene or sugar). Why the gap in the drug/crime association?
