I believe a study was recently done at UCLA and they concluded that technically because most of the roles in hollywood films go to white males than women and minorities could legitimatley sue Hollywood Producers for discrimination?! Wild. Do you think that actors should go this far?

I agree that there are many minority actors like will smith, denzel washington, etc and female actors as well Halle Berry, Jenifur Lopez etc. I guess the arguement is that the MAJORITY of roles go to white males

Why is that? Do the minorities in film represent the percentages of that minority in the real world? Hollyweird is a business not a government funded program. If minorities and women feel neglected,, then make their own films with their own money and do their own promoting and distribution. this is a free country.

No. I don't think requiring a male actor to play a male lead role (or any male role) is discrimination. Are you suggesting we force someone in Hollywood doing a movie about Timothy McVay or Abe Lincoln to use Will Smith or Jamie Foxx or Halle Berry as the lead role? I don't think so.

Acting is really the only profession where you can legally discriminate.

And whites are the majority in this country. Roles are almost always created specifically for a male or female.
We've also seen roles that are traditionally white going to minorities (Halle Berry in Catwoman, for example).

What? Then explain why the most searched entertainment figures are all women. There are far more female celebrities than males. Just turn on the television and take a look. Actually.....don't. Television is horrible and mind numbing.

no. there are very successful minority and women actors that have very big roles for example, will smith, denzel washington, jennifor lopez, hally berry and the list goes on... so no they shoudnt sue.
