This website has all your elected officials' phone numbers and addresses. If you feel strongly then you should send letters to your state representatives and governor.
I am sorry that exercising your democratic rights offends some people.

you wanna know who to write to & not what to say?
ok.
i'd write to anyone who could hear me.
e.g. councils, religious leaders all the way up to the president and the pope.
I think marriage is a religious institution and it should be acknowleded under its own institution. there should be a gay christian denomination or something where they do their own things their own way or, it shouldn't be a religious thing at all.
But after all is said and done i think that the people who have influence will figure it out and it'll all be worked out eventually...
Gay people need to have gay rights because they exist and they desearve their lives to be fair. there should be a line drawn however when it comes to offending other people. it's not fair to force people who want their religion which IS about ritual and repetition and everyone celebrating similar views. That's why we have denominations in religion: so that people who believe the same thing can congregate.
So ifyou need to tell the whole of Massachusetts please do & try to find other people who believe the same thing too so you can have a stronger voice.
The most appropriate people to contact would be religious leaders and the government because they are at the crux of the whole issue. And it might be worth it to see what the gay rights campaigners are like as well.

Marriage began as a religious sacrament. Where the government went wrong was in adopting the word marriage for the license. I would propose that all couples receive a "certificate of civil union." If they are to be married, then that will be performed by their church and the church can issue a marriage certificate if they wish to. As far as the state is concerned, the couples are all equal under the law and can have any ceremony they want, performed by a person legally eligible to join them either through a civil or religious ceremony.

My understanding is that the state legislature has already failed to act on the issue. I thought that Gov. Romney has a lawsuit in which he is arguing that a proposal to ban gay marriage is supposed to be submitted to the voters.

Basically, any elected official who has a say in making laws. The state senate and house are good starts and your Governor.
Search for their web-sites and you should be able to find contact information.

Im not gay myself but i dont see why people have a problem with gay marriages. If they love each other why stop them getting married, in a world where people say that there should be freedom for everyone why ban them from getting married.
To me it makes no sense its just homophobic people trying to spread there opinion to others stupid enough to believe it.

Great question--you've managed to get your thought bashed for what it's worth by a lib and a pro-homo, bigotry still exists--I'm sure there is a male couple or a lesbian couple just making your life a living hell and you just felt the need to vent. Mind your own and get off the useless hot-button issues. Dee dee dee

Yeah, you can mind your own business. Ordinarily, this kind of ignorance just aggravates and frustrates me with the state of humanity. However, as the population is getting more and more educated, the stance on everything gay is getting more and more liberal. Coincidence? So since people like you have been on the slow and steady decline since the days of the ignorant Puritans, I don't worry much as your kind will be extinct in the not too distant future.
