Believe it or not, intruders feed me with endless drugs that torture my brain & my physical body. This lead to financial losses. I want to demand compensation payment for damages done. But I have financial difficulties to employ a lawyer. How can my problem be solved? Can you recommend any department that provide legal advice whereby lawyer fee is paid after compensation money received?

I have an acquaintence who was charged as a child molester some 15 years ago and must sign in with the police every time she moves. The 17 year old boy who accused her was 6 feet tall and weighed 200 pounds. Actually he raped her but told his mother she molested him. She was charged, put in jail and told if she didn't want to lose her children she should plead guilty. or they would be taken from her. She did and was encarcerated for 31 days when the boy she was accused of molesting raped a 13 year old girl and was caught. She was told that it would be easy to have her record expunged but she would need a lawyer. She has never had the $1500 to $2000 she was told she would need. I encouraged her to look into getting help and have this done. But she has been told this is one thing that they will not give free legal help for. She lives in Illinois, and I do not understand why they will not give her the help she needs since they believe she is innocent. Any suggestions?

I was the benificiary to my dad's estate. The inheritance from my grandmother paid for her funeral services and her head stone but there is approximately $5000.00 left over. My aunt feels that since my dad died she deserves the leftover monies.

I understand from news reports that Foley's name can not be removed from the ballot. I'm wondering what the reason for passing that law would be.

I was involved in a fight over the weekend where I felt that I was the victim because the girl hit me first, then her boyfriend put his hands on me. I now have to go to court, twice. One for the girl, becuase she is getting a public offender, and second for me, because I wish to pay for a lawyer. But I am in college with little money and I do not know how much lawyer fees will cost me. Can somebody please give me some enlightenment. How much will I end up spending for a lawyer to represent me in two trials.

Her kid is on a crash course straight to prison, every time he gets in trouble, his mom has to pay restitution. This kid is eighteen now, does she have any legal rights to stop paying this restitution? she will not kick this bum out on his ***, what other options do she have?

Ok...what's up with people blaming alcohol for their inappropriate actions. First Mel Gibson and now Condressman Mark Foley. I just found out this guy is now in rehab. What happen to jail? And if I heard anything supporting the "boy love" theory I'm going to puke!

From what I understand, a discovery is some kind of evidence against someone. I need to find out and find out if there is a limit on the time for it to be transfered from one lawyer to another.

Hi,

We lended about $67000 to a person we know for business a year ago. He agreed to 20% a year (written on small piece of paper). Now When we went to get the printed promissory note signed, he declined to sign our promissory note and made us sign a promissory note with only 3%!!. We had no choice since we had already lent the money. We already got a judgement for $670000 + 3% because he never showed up to court after defaulting.

isnt that illegal? he clearly took advantage of us because we did not have the hard copy version of the promissory note ready? could i get criminal charges involved for him doing that and forcing us to agree to only 3%? The prospect of such charges will probably make him pay up atleast.

punishment. Just a slap on the wrist for committing the FELONY OF PERJURY. Mark Foley goes and commits a horrible criminal act as well but he immedately resigns his post. Mark Foley will likely face jail time fro his dirty deed. But Clinton will never be properly punished for committing his crime. Why the double standard? Besides, it has not been proved that Foley even molested a teenage page yet. It is likely he did, but we just do not know for sure since it is too soon in the investigation.

Either way, he is a very sick man. And Bill Clinton is in complete denial he did anything wrong as well. If you ask me that is a sign of mental illness.

Bill Clinton also did absolutely nothing to get Bin Laden before 911 during his 8 long years as President. The presidential archives have already proven it to be true.

Liberals are dangerous. They need to be put down hard at election time. Teach them a lesson they will never forget.

I've heard a lot of theories on this, but I'd like to hear more. Particularly in regards to criminal law, which seems like a public service and not a profession deserving of such animosity.

ok without going into too much details have you notice that the law protects the criminals. You the victim have no right I tried to file a charge, but anyone can seach you for any reason or give you medicine. they can do what they want and seach you as far as they want to. This is not fair that I can't take it to court that anyone can do what they want to you what do you think. yet I know I am alive because of some of the things I did. Do any of you feel all the rights go to the criminals and not the victim. Do you feel the law is not on your side. Is it fair that you can't take to court when you are a victim. Just who is the court protecting the criminals or victim what do you think that the victim has no rights do you agree. I know it isn't the police deptaments fault, so what can we do to have better laws for victims. any Ideas so that the criminals don't have all the protection any ideas?

I went to a paralegal that did namechanges and over they phone they said it would cost $250 total for the entire thing. When I went in, they gave me a vague view of the process and got some of my information. The way they explained it to me was that I was giving them $250 for them to send to the court which is the exact price the court requires. Then handed me a contract and said it had everything they went over and dont need to look through it, so then I signed. After signing they told me that I needed to send an additional $250 to the court and that the money I just paid was for the photocopying process, bu**! I told them to cancel and they said they would if they knew how to do it. They said to dispute it with credit card company and they will allow the refund. I got the refund two months later after a dispute with the card company and now the paralegal is demanding the money back using the contract phenomen you all know. Can anybody give me advice and tell me if I am in my rights.

I'm currently getting my basics/prerequisites out of the way for college. I'm planning to be an rn (nurse) but I'm worried about something. I know that when you apply for the program you have to have an FBI search on yourself. I've never been arrested or anything before. I'm currently 23 but when I was 15, I went to visit my grandma in Pennsylvania (I'm from texas) While I was there I got caught up w/these girls and we went shopping. Well, they ended up shoplifting and one stuffed a shirt in my purse. We got caught. Since I didn't directly steal the shirt but was w/the girls I got in trouble. The girls got in more trouble but all I had to do was pay a fine of 100 dollars. I never got arrested or anything. All they did was drive me to my grandmas house and that's all. Is that gonna show up on my record? I remember when he was talking to me (the guy that caught us) he was saying something like it was a waste since I was from out of state.

I recieved a PSP from circuitcity.com that I did not order. Upon calling them and asking who sent it, they could not identify the sender. The package was not billed to my address or any of my debit or credit cards. Can I be held liable if I keep the contents of the package? It was, after all, sent to me, and so far Circuit City sees nothing fishy with the transaction.
