It was, in fact there are 7 people alive today out of 400 that receive it still from the federal govt. In many states it is legal also...11 of them, AK,AZ,CA,CO,HI,ME,NV,OR,RI,VT and WA. Used to be in Ohio too for a couple months in 1992. There was a 1999 report by the Institute of Medicine that states that marijuana in not a benign substance nbut that it's effects were well within the range accepted by other medications.Doctors can prescribe cocaine and morphine, but not pot...whats up with that? Do a websearch on Google for Penn And Tellers tv show Bullshit! about the drug war..there are some amazing facts in it and you'll see one of the guys getting govt pot burning a legal joint in front of the capitol building hehe

Why not? Its just a substance that has certain properties that can help people with particular needs, why not let them use it if they need it? If it can help a person cope with chemotherapy, they are more likely to have a successful course of chemotherapy and are more likely to survive. Their families will have them around to love longer, whats bad about that? If it can stop people from going blind from glaucoma, whats wrong with that? There is just no reason for the whole society and legal system to get hysterical over a substance that has beneficial uses--use it, use it wisely, but use it when its needed.

Medically, it can help those suffering a painful death. Marijuana probably does more and has less side effects then half the medications some people take.

We do more to help suffering animals then we do to help suffering human beings. I say give them what ever it takes to help them.

Only if it is dispensed at a drug store & not at these little rinky-dink office buildings where people can get killed just for showing up to pick up their dope. I'm in California & we are having quite a few problems in this area. People are dying for their pot & it's just not safe due to the many criminals that will kill you for your bag of dope, legal or illegal! Only with a Doctors Perscription, at a legal pharmacy, & absolutely no growing allowed by individuals.
