Some company is going to come out with a high profile advertising campaign about how irresponsible it is to not put a GPS chip in your newborns arm. What if they get kidnapped, and you didn't put a chip in their arm!? Your a bad parent if you don't get the chip! Soon doctors will have the option of putting the chip in right away at birth. That way we don't ever have to worry about babies getting mixed up.

Twenty years pass, now 93% of new college freshmen have chips in their arms. They can't get into their dorm rooms without their chip.

Suddenly, it's weird if you don't have a chip, the chip is normal. It's a convenience. What if you need an alibi in court? Not having a chip leaves you open to lawsuit. Insurace companies won't insure you. It's like maintaining the handrail on the steps in front of your house, it's silly not to do it. Sure your every move is tracked. But who cares. As long as you're not doing anything wrong it shouldn't bother you.

any idea if there is a time limit on a warrant issued in PA? the case is a civil action filed by a bank because of non-payment. the defendant stopped paying the court-ordered restitution payments and now has a warrant.

American citizens are responsible for knowing what all of our laws are and following them. But it seems so difficult to get that information. If ignorance of the law is no excuse, then where do I go to get "un-ignorant?" Is there some kind of database or master list of the laws I'm expected to know and follow? Most new or changed laws aren't covered by the press. How can I get informed so I don't break a law by virtue of ignorance that it existed?

Americans ignore our dirty little secret, that is sexual deviation runs rampant in government. this lastest is the normal and its going on all the time. The press wont report what everyone in washington always knew and knows. And worse

Has anyone ever died as a direct cause of smoking weed?

By direct cause, I mean, "Man, I smoked weed, but now I'm dead because the weed is dangerous, dude" and not, "Man, I smoked weed and drove and hit three people and crashed into a wall and now I'm dead."

Has smoking weed ever caused cancer?

I guess I don't understand what the hold up is...it isn't that I am dying to smoke weed...I actually got bored with it years ago. I just think it's a silly law that needs to be repealed...

The act was passed Saturday, Sep 30. It prohibits online gambling by placing criminal sanctions on financial institutions and banks if they fund an entity involved in "illegal gambling" operations. Some things such as horseracing and fantasy sports have been carved out/excluded from the definition of illegal gambling, but common games such as poker and blackjack are hit.

I will admit my bias and say that this legislation is crap. The government should not be telling us what we can and cannot do with our own money. They say it's to protect the children and to stop gambling addictions... there are many other less restrictive yet more effective means to protect children from gambling websites such as universal age-verification accounts (which could be implemented if the government looked into regulation instead of prohibition). As for addicts.... I've never heard an addict complain that he couldn't find a place to gamble his money away. Taking this away doesn't help the addiction

Previously, I posted a question about the Supreme Court decision -KELO et al. v. CITY OF NEW LONDON et al.
In this case, it was decided that property could be confiscated "for the common good", but we are not talking about building a school, park, highway or hospital. The land was to go to a private company, a real estate developer, to build condos that the previous owners of this property would never be able to afford.
It seems to me that their property may have been their only investment, and they should have been awarded at least twice the true market value for their land that was confiscated. Otherwise, townships full of corrupt officials could run around stealing your property at any time "for the common good" and awarding reconstruction contracts to their buddies.
Did I miss something here?

I live in a townhouse run by Deville Apartments and Builders, LLC in Ohio. We've been living there for about 6-7 months so far and we found out about 3 months ago that the basement was leaking, we called, they said they'd get somebody out here. They still haven't (you really have to b**ch out these people to get them to do something) and a few days ago it rained again and they're supposedly getting somebody out here this week. We noticed yesterday what looks like mold on the basement wall because of the moisture, can we get the Health Dept. or somebody to come in and demand that something be done because of this and potential health hazards. And can Deville be held responsible for never properly sealing the basement in the first place? This is obviously a long going problem that previous tenants may have had if there is mold on the wall. What can, and should be done legally?

I have owned the land for 30 years but only used it for hunting therefore didn't need or want a road opened to it as the previous landowner where I entered also preferred it that way. It is located on 2 section lines. the current owner of the property I have previously crossed refuses access.

Say some person broke into my house at night . . . if I have a handgun, am I allowed to shoot them for self defense? What if I see some one trying to steal my car in a parking lot or at home? How do police tell the difference between some one killed on purpose by a gun, from self defense?

For example person A is just walking along the street, then person B comes along and shoots person A and they die. Person B wanted to kill person A, but when police arrive person B could say "Oh well they were attacking me, I was defending myself". What happens then?

I'm thinking of getting a gun for self defense but I want to know when I would need to use it and when not too. I know much of it is common sense but I want to know for sure.

I get, "Look, I like my chicken fried, I don't think about it" and it makes me wonder... Isn't eating something that was alive at least a slight responsibility? I don't know...maybe not?

I'm not a dirty, smelly, hairy hippy...I'm certainly not a bleeding heart liberal...I just think that killing something deserves more thought than, "Man, pass the f'n salt for my f'n chicken..."

My boyfriend was put in prison 17 years ago for attempted murder. It was a self defense thing. Anyhow my ex-husband is pitching a fit that I am with this guy and is threatening to take my son from me. My boyfriend is the nicest guy you'd ever meet. He treats me like a princess and adores my son. We've never been happier. He is no threat and has paid for his actions. He has been out 2 years. He has turned his life around and is making a good life for himself. Is there any way my ex-husband has a chance to take my son from me? He thinks the courts will side with him and everyone I've talked to says he doesn't have a leg to stand on.We do not live together. What do you think?

I don't think Pedophiles can control there desire for children, in a way, we who are not attracted to children should feel lucky. So what is the answer:
Life in prison for sexual offenders?
Chemical Castration?
Also, I don't think the legal age of consent should be any lower than 18

On wenesday i was stupid enough to take a wallet from a coworker... I am a single parent raising 2 kids and going to college fulltime. I messed up. I know i did. I was arrested and now i have to return to court.. does anyone have any legal advise for me? Do you know any good criminal Lawyers in LA County? I know what I did is wrong but now I have to do whatever I can to fix it (if possible). I really need to know if a public defender would defend me good just like a private lawyer.. I have no family here in the United States so I can't go to jail because my kids would be left by themselves. Please if anyone has heard, witnessed, works, seen anything related to this problem, be kind enough to give me the information. Thank you again!
