I was arrested when i was 18 for being drunk and disorderly. I did not cause any damage, resist arrest, and was COMPLETELY unaware of my rights when i was at the police station. I am now FULLY aware of what privacy is available in the U.K (none...), and i wish to get my details removed from their systems.

A friend of mind asked me to help him to get a cell phone couples of years ago. Due to his bad credit, he couldn't get one on his own at the time. Being a good friend, I did the favour for him. And It seemed no problem until last two months. He got a job offer out side of Canada and was ready to leave the country for a long time. I did mentioned to him about his last phone bill, $500. He promised to return to me as soon as possible. But he didn't, and left the country with a word to me. Later on, a middle friend of ours showed up with this guy's personal check and his threaten about whether I dare to try to cash the check. No surprise, the check bounced last week... And I counldn't get hold of him every since. what can I do now? should i take it to the court? Where should I start with? He is in HongKong right now, and his families are trying to sell the house and move to there as well...

a friend of mine got pulled over by a cop at about 11 pm for a cracked windshield. (small crack) and my friend got arrested for drugs and paraphenalia, etc in the car. the two girls he was with were let go. they towed the car and took him to jail. now his pub. def. filed for a motion to dismiss because he was stopped on bogus charges and they wouldn't let him get his id from his wallet under the seat. they searched the car and found drugs . the DA has postponed the prelim 3 times so far. i think he is trying to build a case against my friend and needs more time to gather evidence or something. why else would he keep postponing it? i don't really know much calif law, but something seems fishy to me? what do you think?

On 29 September, 2006, the U.S. Senate approved a bill which would suspend habeas corpus for anyone determined to be an "unlawful enemy combatant engaged in hostilities or having supported hostilities against the United States" by a vote of 65-34.

This bill "removes important checks on the president by: failing to protect due process, eliminating habeas corpus for many detainees, undermining enforcement of the Geneva Conventions, and giving a "get out of jail free card" to officials who authorized or ordered illegal torture and abuse." According ACLU Legislative Counsel, "nothing could be less American than a government that can indefinitely hold people in secret torture cells, take away their protections against horrific and cruel abuse, put them on trial based on evidence that they cannot see, sentence them to death based on testimony literally beaten out of witnesses, and then slam shut the courthouse door for any habeas petition, but that’s exactly what Congress just approved."

I wonder how many Jews in the U.S. are actively looking beyond living in a perpetual state of victimhood and working toward actually ending this illegal war and occupation in the Middle East.

I am 16 years old and recently received a citation for first degree trespassing in North Carolina. I have a mandatory court date. What is the process in court? The citation i received states: Trespass- First degree without autorization to enter and remain on tthe premises of .. so enclosed and secured as to demonstrate clearly and intent to keep out intruders.
This is incorrect, I plan to bring a picture of the area showing no No Trespassing signs posted, as well as notes signed by people I was with stating that the gate all gates were opened for me to enter by someone who claimed he was employee with his managers permission. ( I also plan to bring a note signed by him.) Do I need to get a lawyer to respresent me or can I do this myself? If the charges are not dropped, I plan to ask for a prayer for judgment. What exactly does this entail? What should I bring to court?
