Castration should be reserved for rapists and child molesters, although studies have shown that it really isn't that much of a detour-ant, thus the offender tends to re-offend anyways.
Let the punishment fit the crime I always say.

Violent criminals, rapists and pedophiles, politicians, useless men who refuse to pay child support yet continue to chase as many women as they can, wife-beaters (men who beat their wives, not the undershirts), and aggressive drivers with obsessive-compulsive road rage. I think that about covers it.
