What should we as a society do about Pedophiles?

Question

I don't think Pedophiles can control there desire for children, in a way, we who are not attracted to children should feel lucky. So what is the answer:
Life in prison for sexual offenders?
Chemical Castration?
Also, I don't think the legal age of consent should be any lower than 18

I don't think our current laws are protecting kids from repeat offenders

First, you have to define what a pedophile is. Is the young man, whose having sex with his girlfriend, whose a month younger, but underage, a pedophile? Currently, in most states, he is. IS a school teacher, who during a night out with the boys, takes a leak in an alley behind the car at 2 A.M., a sex offender? In many states, he is. Is the man caught with a young woman who looks an adult, but isn't a pedophile? In all states he is.

Finally, is a woman, who had sex with five underage boys, while being HIV positive, a pedophile? In most states she isn't. Neither is a woman, who posed as a young boy, in order to have sex with young girls in Iowa.

As for those who are of the sexual orientation of being attracted to children, what do we do with them? Do we castrate them? At what age do we do this? Should it be done as soon as they reach puberty.

As we learn more about DNA, we should be able to identify the genes that result in sexual orientations, other than heterosexual. If we can't alter it, should that child be aborted, or castrated at birth, to avoid them possibly acting on their desires when they grow up.

If we can fix the genetic factor, than should we also fix it in all the other sexual orientations?

This is a very complicate issue, that cannot be fixed with simple answers. Also, if you castrate all pedophiles, what do you do later when it is learned that one who was castrated wasn't a pedophile, after all? In over 60% of divorce cases, the man will be accused of sexual abuse of the children.

In 1996, a 12-year-old girl told police that her mother had forced her to say the things she did against her father, who was subsequently jailed. It had been three years since than and she wanted his name cleared. But, when she tried to contact him in prison, she found that he had committed suicide over his child believing that he had done something to her. The girl killed herself the next day.

There are no simple answer to this. One thing about. This congressman, if convicted, will learn what it is like for the millions of men accused, regardless of the circumstances of the accusation.

Being a mother of two small children I can say that killing them would be the only way....Imagining someone hurting my children that way...I WOULD KILL THEM!...Maybe appropriate punishment would be to put them alone in a room with the child's parent (s), guardian (s) etc and let them deal with it however they choose.........it is sad to say though in a lot of cases the parents allow this to happen or just don't care enough to see it happening........
It's a perversion and should not be tolerated AT ALL by any country....or anyone...chemical castration sounds like it may be a good plan as well.........

In Britain, criminals were executed by hanging them on the end of a rope.
This was slow and painful. The victim could hang for some time before they died. If they were lucky, the fall would break their neck immediately.
Very bad criminals were often hung, drawn and quartered.
First they were hung and cut down while still alive. Argh!
Then they were put on a 'rack'. Their feet were tied to one end and hands to the other and they were stretched or drawn out. Ow!
They would then be cut open while still alive. Usually, all their insides would be taken out and burnt before their eyes. This would kill them. Ooo!
Lastly, their dead body was cut up into four quarters. Usually, each part was taken to a different part of the country and displayed as a warning to others.
Yuck!

Death is too good for some of these people. I don't think jail is the answer either. Why the heck should my hard earned dollars go to feed and shelter these people. I have no sympathy for them, you say they have no control over it, well I disagree, I think thats nothing more than an excuse. Its the same for alcoholics saying its a disease. Its a choice, you have a choice to do it or not and if you choose to do it, then you're wrong. I think perhaps a lobotomy and having all their male organs completely removed and put on hormone therapy might do the trick.

i do not think this is a "sex"crime. Paedophiles are supposed to love children. All i can see from their behaviour is an immature desire for power over someone who is way more powerless than they. I totally believe it is an "abuse of power" crime. A spiritual murder. I also believe that castration of the mind is the only way to stop these monsters. If that can only be achieved by the death setence then so be it!

Someone who hurts a child does not derserve to continue living. We should limit the life span of the pedophile to a non existance. After snuffing out the million or so of deviates, the market should dry up.

Tattoo on their forhead after fisrt offence, second offence prison term followed by psychiatric treatment in secure facility with work provisions( call centers, piece work etc, so they pay their own way), until either a cure is found or they pose no danger-(bed ridden, dementia etc).
Why risk having sick perverts on the street, treat them as danderous psychotics which is what they are.
