Hi, My aunt is a US citizen living in Singapore for many years now. Every year she returns to the United States. She does not have income because she's dependent on her Singaporean husband. Recently, she tried to petition her son. She was informed that she needed to explain why she has filed her income tax. She was told that she needed to file it even if she had NO income. Is anyone familiar with the US tax laws regarding this? Would you know of any website/link I can check to research this? Thanks in advance.

When people always think of America, they think freedom, greatest country, land of opportunities, but have you ever thought of the history of this country? All the wars, violence, protestings, scandels, crimes, etc. I just wonder about America and if it is great...I don't know, what do you people think about America, and it's past times?

I know some of these kids have comitted horrible crimes, but shouldn't there always be at least the hope of redemption? None of us remain the people we were when we were 15 years old.

I had a bag of stuff i just bought at a store. I walked out, and remembered something else, i went back in. one of the checkers flipped out, and came very short of accusing me of shoplifting. I could have sworn the twit said, "you are in trouble!" but i can't be sure of it. if i was sure, i would hire a lawyer. anyway, they said that whenever going in the store, i must tell them i have a bag of stuff, for security reasons.

Here's a good question. LOTSA women carry purses. how come they never have to check their purse in with security? they can easily shoplift, especially if the purse is big. I never see this. It's only someone carrying a backpack, or a shopping bag, that gets stopped. potential female shoplifters carrying purses can go about their business, with no questions asked.

How can a parent (in Idaho) obtain a transcript of court proceedings of a juvenile? Whenever he asks the att'y for it, he gets blown off. No more money to hire another att'y or fight the system - but with transcript, can/will 'prove' illegal (2 long yrs) proceedings from pros. atty. on an 11 yr. old. All rights/laws thrown out the window with statement - we can do anything we want - and they did. No Mirandizing, no adult w/child when interrogated (law states under age 14 that is a must), no quick trial, a parole officer assigned for 1 1/2 years 'before' final trial/verdict, thrown in detention for not getting good grades (that had nothing to do with his legal problem) and p.o. called the shots for the 'entire' family or he would go back to detention (and she sent him back when dad was in bed sick and couldn't visually see him 24/7), harassment of parent (single dad), lies - misquotes by pros. atty/detective (I know that to be true because they talked to me and when I was told what they - under oath (in court) testified to that I had said - it was bits and pieces of my statement taken totally out of context), etc., etc. Sounds unreal, that is what I thought until I saw what they were going thru on a daily basis. Boy, is our legal system screwed up and people living pay check to pay check have no chance. The outcome was told to them by the P.O. 'before' the trial started and guess what - she was 'right on'. By the way, this little boy has ADHD, opositional defiant, & is bi-polar but they wouldn't take his doctors word for that until AFTER they convicted him. To this day, he doesn't know what he did wrong (he was 11 going on 7-8) and doesn't understand why he's in trouble (he just turned 13 and is still about 8). Too long of explanation but if you get this far and can offer some help in (any avenue) to obtain a transcript (remember, the Dad has no more money as they have more than drained him but because he works, he can't get assistance), I would appreciate any help that I can pass on to the Dad. He's struggling trying to keep things together for his other child, pay his monthly bills along with all the extra 'fees' the judge could come up with (even has to pay extra for a parole officer - monthly - why do we pay taxes to pay their wage if they add extra $ each month for a p.o. to persecute - yes I said persecute the parent that's trying to do right by their child? Mother is a dead beat and pays nothing). What the little boy did was wrong but not earth shattering and definitly not to the extent he was punished. I've seen people who get repeat DUIs, domestic battery, etc., get less that what they've given this child. Enough - I'm just angry that the legal system I've always believed in (60 + years) is so corrupt that they'll destroy a family just so they can get a notch on their belt. I'll be waiting for your helpful replies. Thank you for any suggestion.

I deposited a check in my acct. and it was sent back because it was a 3rd party check signed over to me. I called the bank, they asked me to come in with the person that the check was written to so they could see their ID. We went in to the bank & they cashed the check for this person. 4 months later, I was depositing a check I received as payment for a job i did. The bank informed me it was frauduelent. I filed a police report. 2 weeks later I received a letter from the bank telling me that my acct was being debited for the amount of the 3rd party check that the person cashed thru me, at my bank, 4 months previous. When I called I was told that since I am now a criminal (because of the fraudulent paycheck) they are making me pay for the funds of the 3rd party check because it was returned unpaid to them. They never in formed me of this when it happened. How can they make me responsible now? They have called me a criminal, but aren't I a victim?

Within days after my father passed away my Stepmother and step siblings began dividing my dads things and going over his will.I had no idea, because no one told me it was happening.I missed out on the divisions of everything. Ive asked family memebers what dads final wishes were and was told about a will that left certian things to certian people and with no mention of myself or my bioliogacal little sister in it. Just stepmom, stepsister and one of my two stepbrothers. What was not mentioned in the will was left to stepmother who sold and gave away valueable things without even asking me if there was anything I might like to have. Including family heirlooms. My feelings are hurt and nobody cares. Is that so wrong? Ive been told by stepsister that everythings long gone, sorry about your luck, even legaly nothing can be done about it now and that because stepmom had all rights to dads property she also had all rights to disteribute things to people she wanted to give them to.

I'm a pilot and was diognosed with A.D.D. As a pilot you have to get a yearly medical/physical which requires any psychosis diagnoses or any medications you are taking, be reported. Strattera is one of pretty much all drugs you can't take and act as P.I.C. -pilot in command. Anyway I payed fully for the visit to a psychiatrist and presicription strattera and don't think this information is available to anyone outside the clinic or pharmacy.I know if you use insurance they can share this information through M.I.B. medical info beuro Does anyone no if your medical records are automatically sent to social security, federal/non federal beuros? Can the FAA or my physicianfind out I'm on strattera if I don't say anything? Thanks.

My ex husband shows up in my city today (he lives over 1,000 miles away) and announces that he wants to get custody of my daughter. She is 6.5 years old, and always lived with me. My husband adopted her when she was 2.5 years old as her real father never paid support, visitations, and no contact. The real father has seen her maybe 30 times since she was born. The longest time he ever spent with her was maybe 10 hours. He is on his second marriage since we divorced almost 7 years ago. He also moves around quite a bit. He is telling me that his lawyer found a loop hole in the adoption and that he can fight to get her back. What will a judge look at when deciding custody between us? What things are positive/negative marks on either side for custody? My ex just fought for custody of his older son (from another woman) and won back in May of this year. I am so worried and want to make sure that she stays with me because of the type of person he is, (and he hasn't changed at all).

We had an incident in our neighborhood where someone was physically evicted from their rental. A neighbor saw the stuff on the curb and decided to loot it. Then he called another neighbor (who was having our daughter spend the night) to come out after dark and see if there was anything her or her kids would like. The neighbor took her three kids and my daughter out to the curb at night to rummage through somebody’s belongings.

My husband drove by during this and called me immediately to ask if I knew anything about it. We were both shocked that these people would do something like this and even more shocked that they would take our kid out there with them!

We talked to our daughter about it and she understands that it was morally wrong. She then wanted to take the stuff back that she took.

How can I explain my feelings about this to my neighbors/friends without looking like a snob or hurting their feeling?

and never paid it off. The law firm wants to garnish my wages if I go to court (I am trying to settle with them out of court). How much can they garnish my wages? I live pay check to pay check. All but about 300 dollars a month goes to things I need to live such as rent, elec., gas, phone, food, gas for car etc. Do you think if I submitted an itemized list of what my monthly expenses are to a judge he'd would allow them to take 25% of my wages? (The lawyers claim they will get 25% of my wages until it’s paid off) If they take 25% I will loose everything. To me it doesn’t make any sense that a judge would allow them to take so much of my money that it would cause me to become homeless and loose my job. If I loose my job then they don't get paid off. What should I do? Settle out of court? Or should take a chance that a judge will see that I am poor and don’t have the means to pay it off?
