but had the baby after my divorce was final is my child a bastard

Yes. A bastard child is one born to unwed parents. The definition does not state anything about the time of conception.
I wish a new term could be made - it sounds so awful, huh?

Why do you even care or be bothered by this? You should make sure that your baby gets child support and the needed care before or after your divorce is over.

A child is considered a bastard if it's born out of wedlock, which meansnot married. So yes, technically it would be a bastard, because once you get divorced.....you aren't married.
