Actually no. Even Albert Einstein married his first cousin.
It's just frowned upon by people who still beleive that cousins could produce children that are mentally challenged or deformed.
Modern science has proven, that all that stuff is just a myth.
More people need to know the REAL facts.

It depends on the state (and of course her age). Some states allow sexual relations between first cousins, some prohibit it.
A "first cousin once removed" is your parent's first cousin, which has the same relationship distance as a second cousin.

It might be, depending on the State you live in. Maybe check it out first. I don't think it is in most States. My grandparents were second cousins and one of my grandmother's brothers married one of my grandfather's sisters. Their children are all what are apparently called "Double Cousins," meaning that they have all the exact same gene pool and are the same relationship as if they were all brothers and sisters. I might add, that out of 13 children, there were no deformities or mentally retarded children. As well, further down the line now, there are grandchildren and great-grandchildren and no deformities or mentally retarded children.

It is legal in the UK I'm not sure about the rest of the world. You don't say how old you both are. If you just want to have fun choose someone who is not a relative as it could cause problems especially if she got pregnant.
