I was talking to my friend as I was walking out to the consession building and my foot went down into a hole and I ended up tripping and basically impailing or gashing the back of my leg open on a bar that was sticking out of the hole. The hole has been there for a long time and the bar has been sticking out of the hole about 4 inches, just enough to do serious damage. I have just turned 18 and I am outraged with this happening. I was wondering, is there any Texas regulations that says that something like this should be covered up with some kind of cover to keep people from hurting themselves. Also if I have to go to the doctor for this can I make the school pay for my injury? Or if possible, they don't do anything to cover it, can I sue them?

My sister owns property as a joint tenant. The lawyer told her that she has to sell her share of the property now or else her children will not be able to collect her share when she passes away. If she does not sell, her other joint tenant will receive her share when she passes away. Does she have any other options that will allow her kids to inherit the property? Can she legally put it in her will?

I was stabbed three times after departing from a clark atlanta school event. There was i fight before this accured. police was not outside the gym to maintain peace and order. Due to the fact that i was stabbed i was unable to play my school year of basketball for the university, which meant i had to take out another student loan. I am still having trouble with my wrist, one of the places in which i was stabbed. there was no police check entering the building. Anyone could have brought whatever they wanted in or out.

I do. I had as many kids as I could afford. Why should I have to pay for some promiscuous woman to have 10 kids with 10 different fathers?

New Jersey and Oregon has outlawed self-service at gas stations. I think I'm qualified to pump my own gas, and I can do it in 48 other states as well as, to my knowledge, all other countries in the world. What's wrong with NJ and OR?

I screamed and the burgler ran away after cutting the screen. I dreamt about robbers the whole night and in the morning I called police. Police made a report and went away.

Is there anything else I can do like booby trap the door or something. I don't even know how to that either.

I tried to withdraw money from an atm machine and on the first try it told me i was declined. I knew there was money in my account so i tried again and it worked and gave me my money. When i got home i checked my account online and it showed a double withdrawl for the same amount, one for the first one that was declined and the second that was approved. The bank is giving me a really hard time about giving me my money back even though I produced the first reciept showing declined and the second one that was approved. What can I do?

Do you believe it is right to kill someone for a crime? It has been proven too many times that the wrong people die because the police arrested and tried the wrong person. Often this information comes too late.
What are your views?

Just a couple of years into a new job, my publisher had me plagarize travel stories for a young girlfriend he had. He was married at the time. I didn't want to lose my job by saying no and the editors looked the other way. I'd scan travel pictures from brochures and rewrite the copy from his notes and those on the brochures. Then I'd have to run her thumbnail picture and give her credit for photos and the story.

This has been several years ago and he is dead now. The women at the paper have always carried the load and we work with some pretty ignorant, misogynistic male editors. I'm totally burned out sparring with these guys just to get my job done when the male slackers get away with murder. Any thoughts?

I mentioned this plagarism to a friend and she said that I was complicit in the fact. Well, I feel as complicit as a rape victim. Who knew what ramifications would happen if I didn't do that? I needed my job.

I have a similar question out there as well. But I need to know if someone in Georgia sentenced to probation, can have that transferred to another state. I have gainful employment elsewhere, and would very much like to leave.

I paid about $10000 for my hall and I had been planning my wedding ofr two years. While we made the best of it, everyone was miserable trying to deal with the heat. Kids were frustrated. People were fanning themselves the whole time. My husband and I were sweating the whole time. Apparently their air conditioning was not working for a day already. When we asked the first couple of times they said "wait a little it will take a while for the air to start cooling the room." They didn't tell us there was no air until everyone was complainig of how hot it was.

...settlement amount to expect / ask for as the victim / claimant, depending on the type of legal issue?

For example, what are any of these situations worth on average:

Car accident injury when the other driver is at fault

Medical malpractice

A Lawyer mishandling a case

Workplace discrimination

Wrongful discharge from a job based
on some form of discrimination

And do all of these go through a mediation process before going to court?

This is just hypothetical. I just always hear about people winning either not enough or some amount that seems outrageously high for things much less serious than these.
