I was stabbed three times after departing from a clark atlanta school event. There was i fight before this accured. police was not outside the gym to maintain peace and order. Due to the fact that i was stabbed i was unable to play my school year of basketball for the university, which meant i had to take out another student loan. I am still having trouble with my wrist, one of the places in which i was stabbed. there was no police check entering the building. Anyone could have brought whatever they wanted in or out.

You can't sue the school.

If you took any insurance money (liability) from them, then that was considered a "settlement" and that is that. That means allowing them to pay medical bills or any other bills accrued due to the incident.

I also think there is something in the law stating that you can't sue them for anything due to them being an educational institution. You can sue a board, and you can sue administrators of the school, but you can not sue the school itself.

lawsuit happy people piss me off...

However, if the school was not properly doing it's job, then yes... If it was not a school sanctioned event, then you can not hold the school liable.
