You paid $10,000 for the hall? I would definitely pursue legal means, especially if you have a written contract where the a/c is mentioned.
While it can take more than a few days to get an air conditioner fixed, they should have contacted you to alert you to the problem, or taken additional means to provide fans or portable a/c units. With the summer we've been having (at least here in MO) it's been too hot to even think about going without the air.
For $10,000 just for the hall, there is an expectation of certain amenities to be included--and air conditioning is included in that (unless you got married in say, Alaska, or an old building that does not have air.) I would write a formal letter stating that when you signed your contract for the hall (which, I'm assuming you did), you knew the condition of the hall and anything extra that you would need to provide on the day of the wedding. By their deceipt (not telling you as soon as they knew there was a problem with the a/c) they essentially broke their contract with you by not providing full disclosure.
Mention in your letter that, had you known, you could have taken the appropriate steps to bring in portable air units, evaporative air units, or even just warn people to dress appropriately for the heat.
It may not be worth it to immediately file a lawsuit (remember, the most you're likely to get back is your $10,000 and a suit may cost more than that), but writing them a formal letter, mentioning how dissatisfied you were, that you will consider alerting the Better Business Bureau, and that you will never refer them to another customer may be enough for them to offer a small refund.

I was going to say it is just a sure happy world but if I sent that kinda money I think I would at least talk to a lawyer and see what they think at least talk to 2 for the different opinions. Did you talk to the hall people and let them know how disappointed you guys where. Being all dressed up and sweating to death I would be mad too. Maybe they can give you guys some money back to help relieve some of the discomfort. They really need to do something. So try talking to the hall people and see what they can come up with. By the way congrats for the marriage and hope everything else was nice for the occasion. Good luck !

i would be pretty upset too. it wouldnt hurt to call some lawyers and see what they have to say. they should have called you the day the a/c stopped. lying to you about the a/c till everyone was misserable was mean. especialy when you consider the young and elderly that were attending. this was supposed to be a day of bliss, not a day of sweat. i think you have a case. but hey, im not a lawyer. when you call a lawyer you should know the recorded temperature for that day or have proof of the temp. inside the hall.

I think it is reasonable to assume that the hall would be a comfortable temperature for your wedding. I doubt it is in your contract, but it does not matter. If it caused enough emotional stress you could have a suit. Maybe get some of your money back.
It might be worth it to talk to a lawyer.

it relatively is merely The Yankees For Yah! JK To Be elementary i don't have a million Clue Why They Did This! There must be greater evidence For This For Me to ascertain Why. My guess Is That The Yankees do no longer elect a "Curse" like the single The purple Sox have been given From paying for and merchandising Babe Ruth.

Maybe you could go to small claims court and recoup about half your loss. A real lawsuit would get expensive. Contact some of the TV judge shows - that sounds like a case that would be good on TV.

Why not focus on your new marriage, instead? In five years will it be so very important to you that the hall did not have working air conditioning? I hope not, for your marriage's and your future children's sake. In fact, I would bet that in five years you and your hubby will laugh at the hilarity of it all. Makes a great memory....as long as you find the silver lining.
Just let it go, and you will see how much happier you will be rather than dwelling on it and taking it to court.

A lawsuit will probably be quite expensive and time-consuming. Have you tried contacting tha manager or the owner? They should be able to offer you some sort of compensation without getting a lawyer involved.

if they said there would be air conditioning then you can and should sue because being in a hot building like that for a long enough time could have caused heat stroke or heat exhaustion

People in the old days did not have air conditioning, and they were fine.
It will cost you more to sue than you will get, unless you go on Texas Justice. I love that show.
