Yes, obstruction of justice.

I think he is a little touched in the head if you ask me.

They should at least lock him up for the child pornography stuff. Lock him up and throw away the key.

Yes, NBC Nightly News has already said that if he is not convicted, of the murder, then he will be charged for making a false confession. Lying to a police or federal officer is a crime, and falsely confessing to a crime is specifically addressed in the law. If he lies to a law enforcement officer, who is acting in his official capacity, overseas it is still illegal.

No matter what the investigation shows, the evidence won't be weighed until a trial is held, and as soon as Karr shows up in Colorado he will have to face arraignment. At that point he pleads guilty or not guilty and if he pleas guilty and did not do the crime then he has lied to the court; that is perjury, a federal crime, and he can be put away for 5 years.

Law Enforcement will not take kindly to having to pay to send an officer to go and get him, and then having him appear in court. That costs money and wastes time. It will be like he is using the system to get a free ride back to Colorado. The prosecutor will point this out, or something similar, and the Judge will have to assess some sort of penalty.

Even if his ex-wife shows up with the Christmas photo that could be the perfect alibi. Karrr will have to pay for causing all this fuss. The investigation into the girl’s death has been expensive and embarrassing, so the court will not take kindly to someone who is lying and bringing all this embarrassment back to light.

No, they would NOT have tried him on his statement ALONE. PERIOD. The DA even said that on the news, she said they had much more than that to go on, including DNA. And yes, the dna has come back, but we haven't heard the results. Saving it for the trial I guess. Also, there should be a mountain of evidence, as the DA is not in the habit of taking on "hopeless" cases. The are a prominent office and it is their job to win and "protect the public." When they lose, its the public that loses and it makes them look BAD. Their BOSSES DO NOT LIKE THIS and thus do not take on cases they will most likely lose. Without the proper evidence in hand, the DA will not follow through on the charges.

Also, when he was "charged" with the crime, they accepted his "word" and thus cannot be charged with lying.

For one thing, he has the "perfect" case for Mental Instability defense. Child Predator, mixed up wanting a sex change (but holding off getting it - hmm, setting himself up for a defense?), constant attention seeker, typical sociopath, yep, mentally ill by any definition ://

Theoretically, yes. However with the logjam of cases and his questionable mental health, I imagine not. He'll probably be sent back overseas to be tried for his child pornography and pedophelia charges there.

If he, or possibly even his parents despite his age, have any significant amount of money, he could get hit with perjury, contempt of court, and obstruction of justice charges so a civil proceeding could be brought against him to find him liable for the costs of the trial if it's proven that he provided false statements maliciously.

He also, I believe, has three children, so he has other potential problems regarding failure to pay child support and so on.

i doubt they will even press charges for the murder.
there has to be an indictment and they don't have any evidence that he did it, only evidence that he snooped around in the house and testimony that he was in another state on the night she died.

i think it's possible that Karr became so engrossed in the case that he may have had a vision of what happened that night. i have heard of that happening before - someone who loses someone they truly love, asking and praying to be shown the truth of how they were murdered, and getting an accurate vision of the event. i'm curious to see if that how it all pans out.
your second question is interesting, we'll have to watch and learn how that is handled.

I hate to assert this, yet I actual have continually theory that the moms and dads had an excellent purchase to do with the shortcoming of life of JonBenet...perhaps John Karr changed into in on it alongside with one or both moms and dads, yet i don't have self assurance he changed into in this on my own.

They'll probably ship him back to Thailand. Probably not in the style he came.
