The sex offender registry is a joke !
Why not just use the list as a role call device in prison?
I am in charge of protecting my family and I want these people out of circulation with the rest of society. I can't procect my children every second of the day without a little help.
Are we all crazy?

The Read the Bills Act, proposed by DownsizeDC.org, would A) force the politicians to read or listen to entire bills before passing them, would B) make government post the bills online so that citizens, news programmes, bloggers, etc. can read them, and would C) make the politicians wait seven days before voting on bills to give the public and media time to digest the potential impact of laws.

So why would ANY politician not endorse it??

Is it simply because they don't think they should be Responsible to know the content of the laws THEY pass?

Is it because they know they wouldn't be able to sneak their pork-projects into bills any longer?

Is it because they know that if the Read the Bills Act were ever to be voted on, that any politician who would vote against it would probably lose his/her next election? And that thus the law would have to pass, and they, the politicians, would now be forced to take responsibility for the laws they pass?

Or do they just hate America?

paternity case settled within 1month. The estate case in not settled yet and it is still charging me and all he hass to do is divide the estate into thirds. I think it is delayed because he is taking land from my estate for payment and I have not seen a bill yet. I do not know what he is charging for. The longer he delay, then I will not have any land left. I have asked him to settle this for years. What can I do?

I have question for all you lawyers out there..

Okay, here's my situation:

I turned a car back into dealership a while back because I could no longer afford the bill, but now they're sending me court papers and demanding that I pay the remaning value of the car...

I'm a single mother, and I CANNOT afford to pay them over $11,000!(nearly $12K) I dont have it to give them. I cant give them something that I don't have. Why are they asking me to pay for car that I DONT HAVE?

What happens if I cannot pay them the money they're asking for? Will they garnish my checks for the next 50 years, or lock me up or anything?

Thanks.

My friend has worked as a chef in a resteraunt (in the UK) for three months and has just been fired. It has come as quite a shock as he has had no warnings and the only real reason that has been given is that he is supposed to have made threats against the buisness. All seems a bit daft as he was working well and thought everything was ok. He had no verbal or written warning and the manager refuses to give details of who has made these aligations or talk the matter over properly. There are also issues with his last pay packet. It all seems so unfair, not to mention strange. What can my friend do or should he just forget it and move on.

My boyfriend was driving a car that wasn't insured. He was driving it to swap with his ex girlfriend, because he had hers and she had his. He was not aware that there was no insurance. he got pulled over and ticketed. NJ law says mandatory punishment for this is loss of license for 1 year. He HAS to travel for business. Is there any way he won't lose his license?

Like surveillance in a raid, like the Secret Service wears? Small ear pieces that easily fits into your ear with a tiny microphone. Is it called a head set or something else? This is for knowledge for my novel, that law enforcement uses. (I wasn't sure what category this would fit in?)

What impact has modern technology such as computers, the Internet, email and online databases had on the paralegal profession? In your opinion, have these technological advances been positive or negative? What tasks do paralegals perform using computers? What are the advantages of computer assisted legal research (CALR) over traditional methods (going to a law library to locate cases and statutes in books and other printed materials, going to the courthouse to file pleadings in person rather than filing them electronically, etc.)?
