I have a real problem with some of the answers because my son who was 18 had a consensual relationship with a girl of 15 and is now having to file as a sexual predator and everyone knows that relationships of that age happen all the time. When her Mother got mad at him she used it as revenge and she knew about the relationship all along. He had to go to the pen and it ruined his life because the mother let him date her to begin with. They had dated for 2 months before the mother decided to pull this. Of course he only had to stay for 6 months but he still has to file. Just because he has to file does not make him a sex offender. He was being a normal kid at the time. but due to her age nothing can be done in court to say anything in his defense. I'm not saying anything except we all know that everyone on the list is not a real sexual predator. He is now 25 and has a family and has a hard time finding a job because of the reason he was in jail. If he had been 25 and her 15 I would have felt a little different. I know I am the Mother but sometimes all is not as it seems.

We do have to get serious about this problem. The itch these folks have isn't going to just go away because they spend some time in jail.
I think ultimately, hormone or other more invasive procedures will have to be done to deactivate the sex drives of these people. It's that or be locked up for life.
It's either that or continue to watch children suffer, when we could have prevented it.

There's a new law that's gaining popularity (and more importantly it's getting passed by most states) called "Jessica's Law" because of Jessica Lunsford. If I remember correctly, this poor girl was kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and then murdered. The law locks up sexual predators for a MINIMUM of 20-something years on their FIRST offense.
Not sure of the details in your state, but may I suggest that you look it up locally. I think it's a great law.

I am firmly against locking up child molesters up for life. If they are repeat offenders they need to be executed or very seriously, have their genitals totally removed and made to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of their life so they can still go to the bathroom. The people don't need to be out in public nor do I wish to pay for their prison life.

I have to agree with you. I was raped as a child. The man used me for 7 yrs, he never was arrested, as it happened years ago. However, when a pedophile does this to a child, it's like taking their lives away. I'm lucky I've survived it, but many surviours are pretty screwed up for life. I say lock these assholes up for life, they never change. ~

Place GPS devices on them to track their whereabouts and have those whereabouts appear on the sex offender registry.

they know they can't be "cured", I think whoever lets these
pervs out of prison ought to have to live next door to them for a
certain period of time, see how they like it
