Pleadings from celebrities, a former first lady and fellow Republicans did not move President Bush from his determination to reject, with the first veto of his presidency, a bill expanding federally funded embryonic stem cell research.

Nor was Bush swayed by two days of emotional debate in Congress, punctuated by stories of personal and family suffering, that plunked lawmakers into the intersection of politics, morality and science.

"The president believes strongly that for the purpose of research, it's inappropriate for the federal government to finance something that many people consider murder. He's one of them," spokesman Tony Snow said.

My question is Why isn't there a 5 day waiting period for vegatables? Why isn't there a vegatable registry? I don't think that our founders intended that our vegatable be assault weapons. I personally went post office, emailed and called to request answers and to have my mails to be delivered. But I still do not get mail delivered today. They don't give me any reason, keep telling me to call back tomorrow.
I didn't move and I did not make any changes. Also didn't have any trouble with post office before that. What should I do?

My mom had a gastric bypass from a reputable company and she paid the money up front that was to cover everything including follow ups. After she had it done a year later most of the people that worked there are now gone and the new people are going through and doing an audit of the past pacients and are saying the she owes thousands of dollars again. She has gotten a final notice bill because she told them that she doesn't owe any more and has even stopped going to the follow ups. Is there a law or anything that protects from going back on the pacients like that or not.
Any info would be great
thanks

I took the "political compass" test and one question was as stated above. I don't think that you should be proud of a country just because you were born there. Isn't that the same as saying "I'm proud of my child even though he is a serial killer and cuts out body parts for his wall" ? I mean, could you be proud of a country even if you didn't agree with its values and the way it deals with problems?

Tell me what you think:)

Now, don't think of me as a pervert so quickly. Listen. Most people lose their virginity in their late teens from 15-19. Now, with today's birth control and lack of ability to stop practically grown teens from doing what they want, should the age of allowable sex be lowered to say...15?16?17? what do you think? should it be a crime of and adult to have sex with a 17 year old as opposed to a 18 year old? think about it?
