Is there any legal recourse if someone steals your weed?

I can't very well file a police report, but maybe I can get him busted for possession? He already smoked it, but would it be wrong to plant some drug paraphernalia on him? And get him busted for that?

Sure you can file a police report. You're a victim of theft aren't you. In fact, provide the cops with a seed or scrap of your former stash so the cops can make a positive ID of your property.

Hey, cops are cool to this sort of stuff. They understand your issues with the guy. Frankly, I think you are being unnecessarily paranoid. Aren't the cops there to "serve and protect"?

Honestly, if you play that game, don't you suspect that he may try and get you back in the future? I lived with a person who smoked an insane amount of weed, and when we left on bad terms, I was very paranoid she was going to plant things on me.. which got the ball rolling in the revenge situation.

Don't get him busted, don't plant paraphenalia, just walk away and stop talking to him.

certain, you do don't be pussyfooting round. grab the priority by using the scruff of the neck. In fact, why not thank the guy... If you go againts him, you ay have to give out names of your own pushers... unless you
grow it youself..?? And so...., who evr got YOU started in the first place? Was he a GOOD friend? Perhaps a little AA therapy
would be helpful to you and you could meet REAL friends to
assist you to get this whole scheme of life behind you. Obviously,
your habit has not made you happy... So why not look to a better brighter future for yourself... Be strong... an call AA instead of the
cops.....

Problem with "criminal" behaviors is there are no legal remedies for transgressions.

Best bet for you is to pick your friends a bit better. And lay off the weed.

that happened to a friend of mine. he got planted with drugs and went to jail. well when he got out he met up with the guy who put him in jail. drove his *** out to the country and put a loaded gun to his head. said to get out and strip off naked. the guy was scared shitless. my friend never shot him but let him out in the middle of no where to freeze his nuts off.
getting someone busted might not be the best answer. just get him alone and beat his assss.

Ahhh ... There's no honor among illegal narcotics users either. However ... Had you lived in a jurisdiction that allowed the legal use of marijuana, you indeed could have filed theft charges.
