Now, don't think of me as a pervert so quickly. Listen. Most people lose their virginity in their late teens from 15-19. Now, with today's birth control and lack of ability to stop practically grown teens from doing what they want, should the age of allowable sex be lowered to say...15?16?17? what do you think? should it be a crime of and adult to have sex with a 17 year old as opposed to a 18 year old? think about it?

You have to draw the line somewhere. If we lower the age to 16 or 17 now, maybe in another generation they'll want to lower it to 14 or 15. Where do you stop?

Bottom line - teenagers still have a sense of invincibility. The "it'll never happen to me" mentality. They know about STDs and pregnancy, but they're not always as careful as they should be. Now, neither are adults. But adults are more capable of dealing with the consequenses of their actions.

No, of course teens will do that no matter what I think antway.

The legal age should not drop. Legal age is basically when you are fair game to anyone that age and older. To lower the age could put the younger kids open to preditors, which thay should be protected against. A 15 year old should not be a target for sex legally of a 35 year old.

Most places have an age difference anyway, such as where I live a 19 year old can legally date a 17 year old. Laws vary from state to state.

The age of consent is lower than 18 in the vast majority of states and 16 in 32 (64%) of them. Many states also have age range laws that make it legal for minors to have sex with adults within a certian number of years of their age.

Yes! When they start taking responsibility for their actions, we'll consider it. What you have is older man mostly seeking out young girls. Why you may ask? Easy targets. The younger boys aren't off the hook either. That notches on the belt nonsense is still in circulation.Every action has consequences. I think that we should keep law in place. Sex with an non emancipated minor17 and below is a crime to protect our children and hold accountable adults who violate said law. Peace.

Sex is a big step and should not be given to every BF you have..sharing sex with someone should come later..after you build a friendship..then a bond between each other.... and teenagers really don't hold sex as something of value between two people...most people give it up freely and quickly...if nothing else....think about the STD's

Sex should be at the proper time and place - not for teenagers. At their age, they are still ignorant or irresponsible what happens after sex such as unwanted pregnancies. Lowering the age of majority is not a solution but only will aggravate the situation since they should be in school or work preparing for marriage.

No it shouldn't be lowered or allowed. A person isn't legally an adult until they are 18 so anybody younger than that shouldn't be given permission to have sex.

I look at the dramatic increase of the unwed mothers that we have today and I'm thinking sex at an early age is not such a hot idea. .... Of course all these young moms are going to need help, so lets sign up another one in the welfare office. We are building a nation of slaves and its of their own free will. You are just trying to justify getting laid, nothing more.
