I live in an apartment, which is in a large apartment complex. The A/C broke and I called the Landlord maintanance and left a message. So far there is no response.

I have a 3 weeks old infant at home. What are my options legally? Should I call 911 at this point?

Thanks

I have been accused of borrowing money from a woman I worked for & I didn't. I need to know how to file an answer & I only have 2 weeks to do it. I wrote a letter but apparently it wasn't in the proper format. I don't want to have to hire a lawyer being that I did nothing wrong but, it looks like I may have to. I live in IL.

It has happened. Should one example of killing an innocent man be reason enough to get rid of capital punishment? Keep in mind that with the cost of appeals, putting someone to death is more expensive than life in prison. Also keep in mind that most people on death row die from natural causes, not from execution.

I am being suied by a Chinese company over non-performance of a contract. The contract was based in Texas but my attorney says that I have to pay to have the Chinese representative come to the states to be deposed. This does not sound right. Does anyone know if this is true?

Yesterday, the House of Representatives AND Congress passed the Stem Cell Research bill allowing for the research of cures of COUNTLESS diseases and ailments that mankind. Some that could be cured forever.
Before you answer, think about this. With the passing of this bill we could save many upon many lives and cure future diseases forever. Some in which people that have it are tortured for good. We could have Mohammad Ali or Michael J. Fox walking and talking normally by the end of their lives. We could save the lives of the next Stephen Hawking or the next John F. Kennedy. This could be an amazing feat!
On the lateral side, we could also kill of the next Albert Einstein or the most brilliant, wonderful person to ever live by killing of the embreyo that they would have become. In this, we could have a loss that would have changed many aspects of the world.

What do you think about this bill that was passed?

My neighbor watches for vandalism, stealing cars, etc. around our building and tries to catch the culprit on tape. I found out he taped some kids breaking something outside. He reported the incident to the manager. The kids next door and possibly my children are on the tape. The other kids mom said she will be viewing it today. We called the police but they said it is legal because it's on public property and not looking up skirts or something. I feel it is wrong in this day and age to tape children without consent unless of course the crime is very serious. He certainly didn't catch the person who tagged my car with graffiti a couple of weeks ago. Catching a true criminal is one thing but taping children playing outside is scary!

It is barbaric to deprive people of freedom. 20 years in jail is unethical and absolutely inhuman. How can we expect criminals to be better humans if they are in prison for over 20 years,

US Executive order 11375

The order specifically requires certain organizations accepting federal funds to take affirmative action to increase employment of members of preferred racial or ethnic groups and women. Any organization with fifty or more employees and an aggregate revenue exceeding $50,000 from a single federal contract during a twelve month period must have a written affirmative action plan. This plan must include goals and timetables for achieving full utilization of women and members of racial minorities, in quotas based on an analysis of the current workforce compared to the availability in the general labor pool of women and members of racial minorities.. - Wikipedia

This is ordering to hire people not because they are qualified or not but to hire them because they are a minority. Is this fair to non-minorities who are more qualified? NO, should this order be abolished?

if you prove anything i stated to be wrong go ahead and point it out and give your reason.

As far as i can see offering insurance is the same as gambling. if i am an insurer i gamble on the fact that your possesions/car/whatever will not get stolen or broken or kill someone in the next year. then you bet against me saying i bet they will, and pay me money to make sure i keep up my side of the bet.
Does this make sense?
