I am being suied by a Chinese company over non-performance of a contract. The contract was based in Texas but my attorney says that I have to pay to have the Chinese representative come to the states to be deposed. This does not sound right. Does anyone know if this is true?

Beyond 100 miles (federal law and most jurisdictions) you may have to pay the expenses of a witness within the U.S. Better solution is a cool trip to China for you and your legal counsel and get it back when you win your suit.

Can you be a little more indepth with this? I'm not a person that knows the law well but I'd be itnerested in hearing more of what's going on... as long as you don't incriminate yourself in the process.
