Good government requires restraint, which is why all governments descend to tyranny.

This morning I was getting in the shower, and I smelled a little whiff of cigarette smoke drifting down from the apartment above. I ignored it.

This is the principle of free government. I don't like cigarette smoke, but I love not interferring in other people's lives.

The smoke wasn't killing me, it was just a temporary aesthetic inconvenience.

Can anyone explain to me how this pertains to democracy?

This is like an open ended philosophical riddle.

If not for the drug users in this country, coke and weed come to mind, there would be no drug cartels, drug crimes, full prisons, foriegn corruption based on drug money and a general decline in the respect of laws in our society. I am in favor of eliminating ALL drug laws. But until that happens how , you the drug buyer, can you sleep at night knowing what you are financing?

My husband and I left our children in the care of our neighbors, while we went for a drive around the neighborhood, garbage night. We were gone for about 6 minutes when a cop pulled us over. Husband called neighbors to tell them we got pulled over so we might be longer getting home. Asked what the situation was all about, told that they had received a call and someone had reported our children being neglected. Husband told him that our neighbors were watching the kids, he was then cuffed and we were brought in. We explained that our neighbors were watching our children; they were both in bed asleep. I was then brought to another room, filled out a statement, charged with two counts of child neglect, brought into the same room as my husband, who told me that cop had contacted our neighbors &were told that they were in fact watching the kids. Husband was charged with the two counts of neglect.Neighbor was arrested for child abandoment cause he left fora minute? Our houses are connected?

This is a hypothtical situation I saw on a programme.
If I was to plan to commit suicide and then go to a tree in my garden, to use it as a gallows. I place my head in the noose and get on with it. Someone then comes along and finds me, and shoots me- is it suicide or murder? What statutory points would be taken into consideration??

Hey, you whose name is forced on my words
Take your name out of my language, and leave
Take your hours out of my time, and leave
Take all what you want from the blueness of my sea, and leave
Take all what you want from the sands of my memory, and leave
Take all my photos and my relics, if you want
Maybe all this can make you know that you'll never know..
Will never know how a stone of my land can build a sky

Hey, you whose words are forced on my speech
Use your sword, I'll use my blood
Use your steel and fire, I'll use my flesh
Use another tank, I'll use a rock
Use a gas bomb, I'll use the rain
I'll always share you in the sky and the air
You'll never be able to exterminate me or to stop my breath

Hey, you whose wounds are imposed on my body
Take your dose of my blood, and leave
Go to a dancing party, and dance on my corpse, then leave
I will always guard the roses of my martyrs
I will always live the way I want to live
Not the way you want me to live

I need (free advice). Can you help? I have a court ordered wage garnishment to pay a claimant. (And have been paying for approx. 3 years.)
I recently found they are adding interest to the judgement amount. Do I have to pay this? No where in the small claims court judgement papers does it say $XXXX. Plus interest. Just wondering what my legal rights are.

Please help me if you can...

for a company to demand an employee to work over time in Massachusetts or anywhere in the US? My dad is working in a factory that makes dressings, etc.. as a forklift operator, his shift is from 4:30 pm to 1:00am - I guess they tell him that there is a lot to do... and certain days he has to stay until 3am or 5am. I thought overtime was a choice - if you want to do an hour or two u decide - not til they tell you to go home?!

I received medical care in an emergency room for what turned out to be a sprained ankle and asked up front what the cost would be. They stated they weren't sure, but guessed that if it was a sprain and not a break it would be around $400 or less. So, I agreed to services and received a bill for over $800 from the hospital and one for over $200 from the emergency physicians supposidly for the three minutes of "care" I received from the doctor. I feel after reveiwing the itemized bill that I have been overcharged. I decided to sue them for the charges I feel are overly priced. I will have to defend my position in court being that I cannot afford a lawyer. I was wondering what I could use with regard to the law to state my case. Unfortunately, at the time of the accident, I was three days before the initiation of my company insurance, so I am paying for all of this myself. Any legal advice would be appreciated.

I was also suffering of migraine headache which I've never had. Possible to sue? And if so what type of lawyer can do that? I know there are different lawyers for different cases?

Does the D.A. take school into consideration?..Here's the situation..The offender committed a felony crime..Let's say an aggravated ..The offender's school year is about to come up in Aug. 2006 and his preliminary hearing is in Sept. 2006..He's planning on taking a plea bargain ( A Deal), which would most likely be boot camp or jail time. and on top of that probation..The question is, knowing that he starts school and AUG. 2006 and his hearing is in SEPT 2006, could the D.A. make out a way to where the penalty won't effect the offender's schooling?..can they subsitute boot camp or jail time with counseling or community service which will make it convient for the offender to make it through his full school year?..please give accurate feedback.. thank you
