I was given a "Judicial Notice" as requested from the court in a County of California's jurisdiction, at the same time the court granted the defense its' request for a " change of venue"

Does the court have to recognize the finding in one county and proceed in the matter at hand from there...?...it has been since 3/27/06 and a court date has yet to be set...any ideas about what's up or what I should do ?......Thanks

Opponents of stem cell research say using human embryos is wrong because life begins a conception. An embryo, having already been concieved, is human life. Therefore using human embryo is tantamount to experimenting on people like you and me.
They also say adult stem cell research (which doesn't destroy life) has already yeilded some treatments or cures, while embryonic stem cell research has not.

Supporters of embryonic stem cell research say it holds enormous promise for curing or treating all kinds of deseases and ailments.

Back to the original question. Since it's RESEARCH right now, why not use stem cells from chimpanzee (or other animal) embryos? If it works, then we can worry about the ethics of using human embryos.

This seems like such an obvious compromise....am I missing something? Or is the whole ESCR debate purely politics?

So how come people are often tried for the same crime twice? Once in a criminal court, and the other in a civil court? Isn't that technically illegal?

Arent we suppose to have freedom of speech? If so y don I always get in trouble in school for what I say!! I mean we should be able to voice our opinion yet the teachers make us keep our mouth shut!! Is that how they want America's future to be? Quite and not tellin people what they think? I dont know about the rest of America but that wouldn't be a very good America!! America is built on opinions!! Then there I am a little afraid to say what I feel about George W. Bush after what happened to The Dixie Chick!!! When they say we have a freedom of speech did they mean DONT SAY WHAT YOU WANT!!! I want to voice my opinions without getting in trouble!!!

Recently I read that they were being used by the armies of some democratic countries. If they don't explode on impact they endanger random people, much like mines. They seem like something that would be illegal under international law. Does anyone know if they are?

I got in a car accident some time ago and the police dispatched a tow truce company to picup my car. The car was totaled and the tow truck company tried charging an outrageous amount for the tow. The company now says I have to pay to get my car or they will work with the BMV to suspend my license. Are they trying to "scare" me into paying them?

I do not plan on paying them a dime. As I said, their fees were outrageous and the car is totaled so I say to hell with the thing, let them keep it.

I am in Ohio if that matters.

What the big question is, is can they suspend my license?

A 15 year old boy is a suspect in a crime. The local paper not only put his name and address in the paper, but also his picture. I thought this was illegal if he was not convicted.

Yesterday, the senate approved legislation that would require Hollywood studios to provide proof of the ages of actors on sets where simulated sex is being filmed, proving the actors are 18-years or older. I don't disagree, it is a good requirement. My question is, what about scenes of assault and rape? Are the age requirements the same? The reason I'm asking is I heard about a new movie "Houndog" that Dakota Fanning is set to perform in, and she is just 12 years of age, but the script requires her character to be raped in what I've heard is a very explicit manner, and to appear naked or only in underpants in other scenes. Is that even legal? She's not even a teenager yet. I read about it in the New York Daily News yesterday.

I was a someones house and we got into an argument because she was being manipulated. She raised her hand to hit me and I said "Don't you dare hit me. I will call the cops." She said that if I called the cops she would not be taking to jail because it is her house and I would be taking away. I doubt this is true. If she assulted me even if I was in her house (I was invited) she would go to Jail if I pressed charges. I want to know if She asulted me would she go to jail if I called the cops even though I was in her house or would I go to jail because we were arguing in her house and (she says) I proviked her to hit me?

What if the person doesn't want the offer that the DA hands down?..Here's the situation..The offender has to go to his last scheduled conference for a plea deal. He's going to plea guilty. The DA has givin him a deal (punishment agreement)..My question is, can the offender reject that deal and ask for a continueous hoping for a better deal to be offer? or should the offender take the first deal regardless?...What's the best solution to where he doesn't have to take a deal if he doesn't like it...He's not planning on taking it to trail..please give accurated feedback...thank you
