I live in CA. Yesterday I quit my job after being talked down to by a coworker who has no authority over me. She basically said I needed to be more "professional" when she in fact is very unprofessional, yelling instead of talking among other things. There were numerous other reasons for my decision. The boss called me later that day and sayin they would fix things and he wanted me to stay. Knowing that if I left a lot of things would be a mess I came into work today.

Today I went to that same coworker to very politely ask for my reimbursement from a form I turned in a week ago. She took a tone and eventually yelled at me to "GET OUT!" I was very frustrated and the HR lead told me to go outside with her and talk about it. I flipped off my coworker and muttered "B****" as I left. She then proceded to run after me and with her checkbook started striking me repeatedly. Now, i provoked it yes, but I still should not be attacked by a coworker. If they don't fire her could I sue?

On one hand I could sale my vote for several billion dollars. (and that is in today's values, if we are talking about the future I would want the the amount of money that would have the same purchasing power in the future as it does today) Enough so that I could put it in a Swiss bank account and live in another country. Because personally I cant imagine what sort of regime I would be subject to if I sold my vote. What about you, would you be willing to sell you vote to anyone for a price?

I once heard a story that Lincoln was asked by a man to do something unethical for a price. The man started naming prices. Finally Lincoln punched him. The bartender asked "Did he finally insult you enough?" Lincoln replied "No he was getting to close to my price"

I worked for a company for seven-years. My forman gets fired for some reason. I thought I was going to get promoted. It didn't happen. A newer worker comes in, gets trained from scratch and then gets promoted. That happened twice. I am single, never married, and have no kids. Is this considered discrimination? I want to know.

How can the government intervene with someones life so much? I can understand in cases when the parents are neglecting their children, such as when parents neglect to get a child's necessary prescriptions filled...for asthma, etc. But this I don't understand...it's Uncle Sam moving in and taking over....do you agree or disagree?

p.s. if you don't read the link, it's about a 16 year old with Hodgkins disease whose cancer came back, and chose an alternative method through a clinic in Mexico...and a judge ordered him to report to a hospital to continue his chemotherapy...the order was later lifted...as was the joint custody between his mother and social services....dont' know why this was in place.

He calls every single day! Most of the time I avoid him though privacy director, but how can I get him to stop?

a charity that calls to tell me that they have not received my pledge when I never pledged it at all. This the second time this happened with the same charity. Last year they accepted my answer that I did not pledge the money. Today they called and the guy argued with me and wanted to talk to my husband to be sure he wasn't the one who pledged it.

This is probably my first really serious question. To be honest, I just don't like Republicans. The truth of the matter is I avoid them like the plague. I have my reasons based on my experience with them. No disrespect intended but I have an extra office to rent but I can't stomach sharing space with a Republican. Any problems with discrimination laws, newspaper or professional journal editorial policies?
