I am assuming you mean he was initially arrested then keeps having to go back to court, right?
If that is the case. The state has to provide a speedy trial and can only delay the case for a year. The defense on the other hand can delay the trial as long as the judge will put up with their B.S. Any delays credited to the defense do not count toward the one year speedy trial.

Anybody involved in selling or using drugs needs therapy. The reason is he's in denial about the seriousness of his offense, he's a liar and lives a lie in order to sell drugs, he probably lacks in education, and he manipulates everything and everybody in his life. His attorney could be resetting the court date to get additional evidence, the court gets backlogged on cases, while he awaits he could be in treatment which could prove beneficial for his case, all kinds of things could keep his court date changing. That's common and nothing to worry about. You are free to go to the courthouse of the county he got caught selling in, and seeing for yourself what the charges are. Sometimes people don't tell the truth, or if they do, they make it seem minor when in reality, it's a felony offense, which demands prison time, which most of the time they are no different when they come out than when they went in. Only finding out on your own will get you the answer. Anybody who sells drugs is in as much need of help as users due to it being illegal and there's hidden issues as to why he's trying to make $$$ doing an illegal activity as compared to getting a job. I taught teens in treatment for 5 years and we had lots of sellers there, court ordered, and there were never many left who had really changed their ideas about making a living easily with drugs versus working. Unfortunately, most of those teens were illiterate and had never learned to read, a leading cause of young adults selling drugs. Most of them were drop outs and the farthest they had gotten was 8th or 9th grade. They had low self-esteem and attracted people like themselves. If your boyfriend is one with low self-esteem and no education, ask yourself why you are with him. Drug users nor sellers typically are ever a father to the many children they "make." They always have a lie to tell the mate and the mate believes it for a while and finally they either buy into his story and go along with it or they choose a new path. It's harder to change the longer you are addicted to someone. I read about many of the kids who left treatment either going to prison for continuing to sell, or being killed. You are going to have to decide what kind of life you want; you are asking your question for a reason, and I hope you listen to what is said to you. Most don't.

you know court dates are available to the public, right? call the court registry and find out what charges and dates he has, then be there. at least you will know what happens....any delay in court is good if you can make positive changes, like rehab, going straight, get a good job, etc. if that's what he needs, help him to understand and get him help and support.

It probably means that they don't have enough to charge him on it, and they're keeping him to have time to find something. It's the messed up court systems! This is what happened with my ex and they finally had to let him go. Good luck!

It means they are giving him enough rope to hang himself. Hoping he will be arrested again before his court date.
They are setting him up for a long prison term.
Lose the zero and get you a hero.

either he's got a sh*ty lawyer(ecspecially a court appointed one), or the prosecutors dont have enough evidence on him, so they keep pushing the date back in order to give them time to find more evidence.

HE COULD HAVE HAD OTHER CHARGES, OTHER WARRANTS IN OTHER CITIES, WITNESSES OR LAWYERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND CERTAIN DATES, IT COULD BE ALOT OF THINGS---ARE YOU PRESENT WHEN HE'S WITH HIS LAWYER---I WOULD BE TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE REAL DEAL.

He probably isn't telling you the whole story because they would definitely tell him what they are doing what they are doing.
