Here in California there are laws from many, many years ago that are a little quirky. For example, it is illegal to have sex other than missionary style, and the law is still in place. They don't enforce it, but it's still a law, and it hasn't been changed. Isn't that funny?

Ok,so there was this man who abused his wife. She went to court about it,but the judge didn't want to hear it.Later on,the man walked into the store that his wife worked at.He dowsed her with gasoline and set her on fire. She had 3rd degree burns all over her body. She had to have a FACE transplant. She will never be the same again.Should the man get life in prison, where he would spend the rest of his life? However,he would also get free food, clothing, and shelter.Or,should he get the death penalty?Where he would die painfully. However,he wouldn't have to think and suffer over what he did.I'm just asking opinions, respectful ones would be nice.

My ex husband and I have joint custody, and we pay half medical bills and half daycare costs.

he got fired from his job, adn I cannot afford daycare by myself, so he will be keeping them while i am at work. So now he is going to get assistance (a bridge card i guess). Will the state try to get money from me? if so how can i prevent this?

Every day (while it is in session), Congresses passes thousands of pages of laws affecting millions of people. Most of these pages not even the legislators read. Most of the laws are obscure, in the sense that they will never hit the news or make the water cooler. How, historically, have these laws been disseminated and communicated to the people they affect? Let's take a specific example: You are a small business owner. Congress passes some law that requires you to do something -- maybe it's an HR issue, maybe it's a safety issue, maybe it pertains to something you sell, who knows. How do you find out that such a law has been passed?

Is there a clearinghouse that digests all the laws and communicates the information to those who are interested? E.g., is there someone who will tell me when anything is passed that pertains to handling ammonium nitrate, or to retail sales, or to residential wiring? Or is it all hit and miss?

I know its a bit morbid, and if I had any relatives that had any money, I still couldn't do it, but the thought crossed my mind when watching the news of a women who killed her husband.

If the person is convicted does the government take the inheritance. If they get 30 years in prison, do they get the money before of after they are released?

This is the story. I agree verbally with a landscape guy who work in my neighborhood to cut down the tree in my back yard and re seed my back yard in April for 1400. He cut the tree down,. In the meanwhile he brought soil (dirt) like 2 times. At this time i paid him like 1000 for the tree as we agreed. Then he was calling me saying excuses that it was raining and he can; t work there. I understood that, but there were some days it didn't rain and he did not come and finish the back yard. He disappeard like a month. His workers came by the end of June and seeded my back yard. A really bad job. I paid the 400 to complete it.There were some places with concrete and they just put the soil on top with the seeds. ( what kind of landscape workers are they?, that they couldn't notice the concrete). Well he said now that he spent more money and the amount we owe him is now 2000. Eventhough he still not finished the yard (just 75% done) We said no. He said I will c u in court. What can I do?

We broke up and had everything split between and signed on a document. Then we had a falling out after I found out she cheated on me during our engagement. We bought alot of things together. She put alot on her credit cards...which I had duplicate cards in my name.....and I paid 85% of the rent.....she covered the other 15% + Utilities. The balance on the cards is like $7,000. The property is in my house and now I'm not going to split anything with her. She can take me to court...but she'll have to prove what she bought...what are my obligations? What can I keep? What can I sell? Please Help.

okay maybe i'm just a twisted little girl! but can you tell me how the government can make something that so simple so complacated? our voting system is so complicated that i think it's a joke! We have the smarts to count everyones vote!! you know the computers!!! umm well why doesn't that apply when we vote! we can keep it simple and just vote for who we wan't! Why do we have to vote for a group of people and then they vote! or why do they just grab a hand full of ballets and say that is the score of the state! when people make things more complex it shows that they are hiding something when it can be as simple as 123... Why is this happing?
Why are the people of United States not doing anything to stop this! or do you think they are too brainwashed?

By no means am I personally attacking anyone person here i accept the same in return! Thanks
