Can I request to only be handcuffed in front, cuz behind the back causes me a lot of pain.

I guess that it depends on the jurisdiction that you are in. From what I've notice in the US, unless you are unruly, they are likely to have you cuffed in front, possibly connected to a chain that goes around your waist locked from behind. It's movement restrictive, but they aren't overly uncomfortable. They may also use leg irons, but that's designed primarily to limit your speed if you try to make a run for it. (No long strides.) If you are cooperative, they may wait to restrain you outside of the courtroom as the primary point is for standard prisoner transfer and not for public show.

The key thing is not to fight it. That only makes things worse as they may have to be forceful. Also, it's a good sign that you are being "rehabilitated", which does go a long way in jail.

Mostly likely they will handcuff you in the courtroom and take you out a door no one else uses. You will only stay in handcuffs till you get to the jail. Being embarrassed is part of the jail process.
You are not supposed to feel good about the situation.

First of all, you can't request where they handcuff you. Second, some courts do it right there. In fact most do it right there so as to avoid fleeing or even a dangerous situation. Just because you may not be dangerous doesn't mean that others aren't. They can't make that decision based on each cases merit. If you've done something that deserves going to jail, maybe the time in jail will keep you from repeating the experience.

You can request to be handcuffed in front.

I would just keep myself together and not worry about it. The courtroom will be stressful. Just go out and do something fun tonight and try not to stress over it. I would worry more about jail but then again, it's only 2 weeks. No biggie.

They will cuff your wrists, then escort you out.

When you change to the jumpsuit, the full shackling will occur.
