Legally you are never supposed to ride a bicycle on a sidewalk.

I'm not sure there is a real age limit. So long as the rider is respecting the pedestrians there shouldn't be a problem. As for where I live, the police told my 7 year old son to stay out of the road on his bike or stay at home... Well, we don't have sidewalks in our sub division, or in our town actually.

There are sidewalks and then there are bike paths. Bike paths look like sidewalks, but are wider and slope down at intersections so you don't go over a "curb". You SHOULD ride on a bike path rather than the roadway. No age limit!

of course the laws vary from city to city. But in my city, you are never too old to ride your bike on the sidewalk.

You can ride your bike on the side walk you just cant do it in town were the stores are, at least were i live you can as long as you respect pedestrians. I'm sure every state has a different ruling on this.
