In the state of florida or wherever? I had a collector call me and try to get me to pay a debt that i know is completely invalid. So i had my attorney send the collector a letter of representation (certified mail), and basically state my stance as disputing the validity. the collector never responded, and almost a year later, they put it on my credit report and its screwing me over. i since then lost my lawyer, but i'd like to know if they could do that. please help!

If you ride a motorcycle without a helmet, knowing that the chances of you sustaining a serious and expensive injury is substantially higher, do you still think that your coverage should be equal to safer riders?

I was just wondering why other countries allow it but ours doesn't. Even though our country was founded upon the principles of freedom and letting people be who they were without government interference.

You are in an accident, no fault of your own, and are seriously injured and can't work, therefore can't pay any bills; should the at fault party be held responsible for your bills so you won't lose your possessions and your family is saved from financial ruin?

I have a grandfather with Alzheimer's who was recently put in a nursing home. His nurses say it would be OK if I take him to my home (5 minutes away from his nursing home) for visits. My husband is afraid that if we take him to our home, and anything happens to him (broken ankle, etc.) that his kids would probably sue us, and cause me a lot of mental anguish in the process. They are money-hungry, but-if the home lets me sign him out, and we have homeowners insurance, could they really have a suit against me?

Without using the Bible or "just because", could someone please explain to me why some want to ban it? Why does it affect you? In an age of hatred, killing, anger, and bombing, why would anyone want to ban happiness between two people?
I apologise for committing the faux pas of bringing of politics in a social situation, but I needed to ask it. Please, everyone, be civil! ^_^

Only 5 states carry a death penalty for child molesters who commit an act against a child under the age of 14, and even then, it's when they have committed a second offense. I think they should enforce it on the first offense.

I was born and adopted in Boston, MA in 1963. At the time, there were privacy laws that protected the identity of my birth parents. Specifically, people could put a child up for adoption knowing their identity would never be discovered. I assume those laws still hold true because they were the terms under which my adoption took place....but I want to know if I have any legal rights in this situation?

I want to see the world change, stop using gas and oil and realize there mistakes and start over. How can we achieve something so obvious? The goverment wont help because they are mostly the problem. My own thoughts are that we should all stop supporting the problem and start asking for more options, like Bio-fuel. 75% of Brazil's population uses non-gas powered cars. THE POWER OF THE CONSUMER. ASK AND YOU SHALL RECIEVE.
