Actually, the government really ISN'T the problem in this case. Nor is it the Auto Industry, or even Big Oil. The problem here is the consumer. Us. The vast majority of us want big cars that go fast, lots of lights in out huge homes, and to throw away everything and buy new things. Most people don't really care that this lifestyle cannot be sustained. They just want that 68" TV. Until the consumers change, nothing else will.

I agree with SBMECH. We have to start somewhere and it sure as hell is not worth waiting for the government to do something about the problem. If everyone in the world did one thing everyday to help the environment who knows how much better the earth would be down the road. Take baby steps.....

Well, I know that some people are cutting back because they want to feel better about themselves (liberal wackos). So, I just consume more from non-renewable energy sources to balance things out. Becides I wish global warming did exsist, I live in the chicago suburbs, maybe the lake will expand and I will have lake front property.

That is not going to happen without the government passing very strict laws which will not happen without stopping the oil companies from giving tons of money to politicians
That should be worth 10 points!
