How cna they make you work the holiday, day before and after when one or more may be your regular day off. And do not give you any holiday pay or less than minimum wage. Do you have the right to refuse. Or is there a way to get your pay coming?

My grandfather is in a nursing home, and I was visiting frequently because I live nearby and no one else in the family was hardly visiting. He has alzheimer's but remembered me coming, and really enjoyed our visits. Well, there is some bad blood in my family and his daughter is Power of Attorney over him and found out I was going to see him, and had a fit. She called the nursing home and told them I was not allowed to see him anymore. Now, the rest of the family says she has taken this Power of Attorney thing to her head and thinks she is God over my grandfather and they think I should be able to see him. So- what I was wondering- is how do I go about suing her for visitation? I live in Michigan. I don;t have much money for a lawyer, but I have to do something!

I hired an Attorney and paid him a $3,500.00 retainer. He said that money would take me all the way. Now because I don't want to take a plea bargain, He wants $3,125.00 or he is going to drop me. He gave me 30 days to decide to pay or plea,I don't feel I should have to say I'm guilty just because I don't have the money to pay him. I despartly need help. I'm being charged with 4 felonies and a misdemeanor for things found in my home that weren't mine, and the people that those things belong to say they will step up and claim them. I truely believe my lawyer is a sellout. I am set for jury trial on July 18, 2006.

My fiance had emergency surgery 5 years ago for his appendix. He has had stomach pain and bowel problems since the operation and has been on different medications which have not been working. Recently, via X-ray clamps or staples were discovered. In addition, his scar from the appendix surgery is on the left side which the doctor is telling him is normal. Everyone we know who has had their appendix out has the scar on the left. Coulf this be considered malpractice? Is it normal to leave clips / staples in the body after an appendix surgery? Could the docot be trying to cover up since she is part of the same hospital system? I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

I have been trying to contact my attorney for a while to get an update on any developments in my civil lawsuit. I have had a case with him for about 6 years now. During this time, he never calls me with updates and everytime I try to contact him, he never returns my calls. I went to the CA state bar website and found out he has been suspended for 2 years. Is it possible to get my money back and how would I fire him?

A man has damned up a creek and made a swimming pool out of the water. He has filled in the rest of the creek that runs on his property so that it ends with his swimming pool. This creek served at least 4 other people and ran in to a larger creek that eventually runs in to the Trinity River.

I just got out of jury service as the Foreman; we came back with a unanimous verdict of guilty on a misdemeanor case. The verdict had to be either guilty or not guilty and had to be unanimous or it was a hung trial. When we finally agreed, it was submitted to the judge who read the decision to the court. He then asked the lawyer if he wanted to poll the jury. The lawyer then asked each of us on the jury how we voted. Obviously each of us said guilty because that was the verdict that we as a group came up with. What was the purpose?

I am a resident of L.A. County. Other party lives in another state on the East Coast, and has resided there for over 10 years. Divorce papers state S.D. Superior Court maintains jurisdiction over anything relating to divorce, custody, etc... Need to have children, age19 and 18 (H.S. grad) emancipated to end support payments. Other matters to address after that, too, so there will be court time for me and I can't keep taking time off work. How do I petition the court to move this to L.A. County Sup. Court? Can I petition S.D. Court directly, or should I go thru L.A. County system first? Can I do it myself, or must it be done by an attorney? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If we eliminate their right are we denying democracy?
Or if we leave them the right to vote, are we forgetting that they broke the law, and that the right to vote is a civil right not a human right? Therefor the government can deny them their right,
