His greencard is about to expire. They gave it to him for a length of 10 years which will expire in 2008. It was based on marriage but, how do I know what form to fill out? How do I know if his greencard is conditional or not? What form should we fill out I-90 or I-751? Would like your advice. Also how long does this process take to get the new greencard back?

The states where both their Senators voted for the Proposed Immigration Reform Bill were Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusettes, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington and Wisconsin. Of those on the list, I would say California has a major illegal problem along with Arizona. Florida would have a major illegal problem if not for the "Feet Dry" policy with Cuban illegals. The rest of the list, needs more exposure to the problem. I highly encourage any illegal alien not living in one of the above states to move to one. Either you'll be in a less adversarial location where it will be easier to garner support for your cause, or they would become less supportive, now shouldereing the sociological and economic burdens of illegal immigration. Either way, a great political and sociological experiment!

I am a 16 years old american citizen and i am getting my passport for the first time and i have a problem, i have always lived in Mexico but i'm moving to the U.S in a couple of weeks and i went to get my passport at a mail office on Texas and they told me i should have an american ID which i can't get because i have never been living in the U.S so they ask for the passport and for the passport i need an american ID, so in Mexico there is a U.S consulate and they accept mexican ID's but the problem is that if i'm moving to the U.S i have to write my U.S address and in Mexico you can only write an address from Mexico. I have explain all of this to the people at the passports and to the people at the ID's. So what do you think I should do??? Thank you.

Of course i'm tlakinga bout the DECENT ones who jsut came illegally because they are poor.
Not the criminal past illegals who were denied of criminal pasts.
And i'm not talking about the ones who want Cali. and New Mexico back.

I'm talking about the ones who are actually willing to learn english and work hard to become a citizen but the gov. is denying them papers because they are poor and cannot afford.

Please no offesive answers.

There are people far worse off in third world countries who are murdered, enslaved and tortured every single day. Why wouldn't we want to help them before the millions of illegals?

that we live in a zero-sum world and that taking the developing world's elites we have a negative effect on the countries from which they emmigrate?
This entire debate seems to assume an infinite world and glosses over the impact of poor countries losing their engineers, scientists and thinkers to the West.
Let's stop ripping the Yankees for taking the best free-agents and cease the parochial idea that America's impact on the world is completely benign...please.

Why would anyone with an ounce of common sense, want to legitimize illegal activity? I know Libs see them as votes, because they will become dependant on the Government, and republicans (not Conservatives) are just butt kissing. But like I said,I wanted responses from people who have common sense.
What about all the people who have waited on line for years to enter legally. What message does that send?

As far as I know, Tancredo is the only one that has spoken out publicly against it. These people now know how the American people feel. Do you think any of them will even discuss it?

Well I see the Congress finally got it right. They defeated the Immigration bill. That is the first thing they have gotten right all year.I dont see what the problem is to begin with. If you are here ILLegaly then you get sent back. If you are here LEGAL , then WELCOME TO AMERICA. what is so hard for congress to get. What is so hard to understand the differance between LEGAL & ILLEGAL. I thought most of them were lawyers. Maybe they should go back to law school & take a refreasher course in basic law. What do you think??

If you want to get amnesty to be legal Americas, why do you trash our flag and wave your own?

Same goes with calling us obscene names. Do you think calling us "nazi-@$$holes" will make us change our minds into thinking you're all nice productive people and accept you into our homes?

Those of us who are against the amnesty bill, and against illegal immigration, are constantly being called racists.

I want to know why.

We are in favor of legal immigrants, and encourage the over half a million that enter the US legally every year.

We simply believe in treating people who break the law, like they are people who break the law.

The distinguishing factor between those we support and those we oppose is not race, but whether they choose to act legally or illegally, and yet we are still named racists?

...Also be willing to allow members of families poorer than his to "immigrate" to the wealth and privelege of the Kennedys?
Keeping in mind that the Kennedys' wealth and power is all from money made bootlegging illegal booze during prohibition.
I mean he's okay with mexicans taking advantage of american prosperity and rewarding lawbreakers for sneaking in our country...So he should be okay with us sneaking into the Keneddy compound and declaring ourselves members of his immediate family, right? Dig this site if you think Ted should have to take what he's trying to give to america!

as part of the " citizenship test " should all immigrants ( of uk military age ) be made to do national service ?, would this be more of a test of allegiance than singing the national anthem ? , on the other hand , would you trust millions of immigrants with guns ?

Once again I guess when I ask questions regarding race either I have to be extermely nice or extremely hateful and racist. Once again I get a question deleted because I dare question why Asians are performing statistically better in our classrooms while other students have been falling back? I guess YA is not a place to actually discuss real issues.

Obviously it is still expensive, but it seems to me that a virtual border might fare better than a physical fence that can be jumped over or tunneled under while no one is around to see... what do you think?
