Immigration - June 2007

OK, right now alot of people are using as an argument for amnesty for illegal immigrants that they work cheaper than Americans, and therefore are good for the economy by bringing prices for goods and services down.

Now, regardless of how you feel on the immigration issue, it REALLY bugs me when people say stupid stuff like this.

Do you REALLY think that, once they become legal, they will work for the same wages? Of course not!! They will not be in this country legally, paying taxes, and will start asking fro what Americans would be paid for the same jobs. And, if we continue paying them less, they will complain (remember women and the glass ceiling? Well, this is no different)

So, please don't use this as an argument. It only makes you look ignorant.

Does everyone agree?

deport the legal citizens who were born into their citizenship but not only do they not appreciate the freedoms that they have here, but also do nothing but sit around and complain about how they hate everything about this country? They didn't have to do squat except to be born to get their legal status, so why don't we just deport the worthless scumbags to Mexico so that they really have something to complain about? Plus, that will make room for more immigrants who appreciate what we have here to come.

The United States government is on the verge of approving a mass amnesty to millions of illegal aliens -- a plan pushed aggressively by meddling Mexican officials who reap billions of dollars in remittances (illegal aliens' earnings sent back to Mexico) without having to lift a finger to clean up their own country.

And the thanks we get? Internationally televised public

So how come, I recall years ago when I went to Ireland (southern) I didn't need a passport which seemed strange as its a different country. It can't be an EU member state thing as you still need a passport to go to other European countries.

Knowing that everyone is taking sides on the immigration issue and our government is in a stale mate, what makes them think that it is ok to bring in Iraq rufugees to the US? We are at war aren't we? Does this sounda little like "Letting the wolves tend the sheep? What is your opinion? I do feel sorry for the refugees, but who wants to feed them with hand they bit?!

And should it be?

They say- priority is usually given to the educated, skilled, and wealthy. Less privileged individuals, including the mass of poor people in low-income countries, cannot avail of these immigration opportunities. This inequality has also been criticized as conflicting with the principle of equal opportunities, which apply (at least in theory) within democratic nation-states. The fact that the door is closed for the unskilled, while at the same time many developed countries have a huge demand for unskilled labor, "is a major factor in illegal immigration." The contradictory nature of this policy - which specifically disadvantages the unskilled immigrants while exploiting their labor - has also been criticized on ethical grounds.

What do you think? True or Not true? Is it the right thing to do?

i will hear over and over agian that if Americans didn't use so many drugs that,,there wouldn't be a problem

I belive this to be arrogant to the point of brainwashing , here is why

1, the drug cartel is Criminal activity
2, the drugs are sold mostly in the US becuse they can sell them for much more here,,,,not becuase of hunger ,but becuase of the amount of money people make
3, ANYWHERE drugs are sold,,people will buy them,,especially in Latin America, so don't give me to high horscrap moral attitude that Americans are just more likley to use drugs, in the town and villages that dealers infiltrate in Mexico,,,Cocaine addiction epedimics will spread quicker than this country, across the board,,in a couple years,,half a village will be hooked,,nobody is immune to addiction,,just a fact of life, drugs are just not as widley available or afforded there

4, If your son gets hooked on heroin when he is 14,,will you put any blame on the person who gave him his first hit,,,,,

bring food and water for the illegals,,letthem camp out with us in the 100,000 thousands until the government does something about it

no, we couldn't do this type of protest,,,you know why

we would be shot left and right by drug mafia and coyotes,, this is the real reason we can't just shut down the border,,,nobody ever mentions it,,but this drug and human traffcking is literally running the largest chunk of power south of the border,,,people would starve, and civil skirmishes would shed blood all over ,exico if we stopped the drug cartel and the coyote game,,,,,thats why Mexico prtests the fence ,,becuase they use this country in any way they can,,they can't survive without us,,,,so anybody else want to shed light on the REAL reason we can't just build a wall,,which has nothing to do with being able to build it or the effectiveness of it

The Senate immigration bill does not require that the border fence with Mexico, that was mandated by last year's law, be finished before giving amnesty to almost all the illegal aliens in our country. Nor does it require that the new border patrol agents be trained and on duty before amnesty kicks in. Shouldn't these two things be accomplished before granting amnesty to all the illegals in our country?
