With all due respect to the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish do you think England should seek some form of independence from the other home nations. I'm not suggesting giving independence to Scotland etc thats a different issue, i'm saying should we cut loose from the rest of the UK. The other home nations are getting louder shouting for independence and i for one fully agree with that right but an Independent England? Tell me your point of view based on what part of the UK you live in. Scotland, Wales and N.I. could all stay together if they so wished, this is about England.

Entering the United States illegally is a crime and is supposed to be punishable by law. Who is protecting the United States from this unauthorized invasion? Do you feel safe knowing that some of these illegal aliens are terrorists who will soon receive amnesty for breaking the law? Do they live in your neighborhood?

Like any large undertaking you start small. I believe that we could over time deport almost the whole lot with all agencies working together. For example......have a detainment area that every time it get's to a busload of "inmates" the bus/plane drives/flies them to their home coutry and drops them off. Every time a policeman, border patrol, civilian, ANYONE finds an illegal it is reported and acted upon. They are transferred to the detainment area for deportation. So how long would it take? Not as long as you think if everyone REALLY complied. Within a couple short years there would be a LOT less illegals running around. And flags from foreign nations? Marches? flagrant abuse of our flag? Abuse of our country? These things would be a thing of the past VERY quickly. These people would not show their faces anymore because there would be a REAL threat of being picked up. Think about it.

I believe it is completely possible to deport the majority of them

I'm hearing the major news media saying a majority of Americans favor passage of the immigration bill. But I don't sense much support for it at all from the people I talk to every day. Are you in favor of it or not?

That Americans are discreetly racist towards Mexican period?
Below are some comments that I've come across that people post about Mexicans, yes the issue is "ILLEGALS" BUT people also seem to say I can't tell if they are legal or not, so I just dont smile at Mexicans.

"I only stare because I am fed up with your ILLEGAL arses and cant stand you. I never smile at a Mexican because you never know if they are here legally or not."

"I stare and smile because I want to make sure my car doesn't get vandalized by you once I go into the store. I don't hate you, I don't trust you. If you broke the law coming into my country why should I trust you to follow the rest of the laws America has set up"

" I don't smile at them in the streets - never have. They are constantly staring me down and each time I say......"WTF are you staring at? Get your eyes off me!!" It happens almost daily"

If you don't have anything against Mexicans (legal), why not smile? You CAN'T tell who is, who isnt!

I don't support illegal immigration but her situation is a bit different. She brought to the US 20 years ago when she was a baby by her parents who were dying...she had papers from someone else. Anyways, to make a long story short...she is a great gal who has a lot going for herself but I really want to help her become a US citizen but she has no papers only a state ID and that's it. Is there anything I could do to help her out?

Anyone interested in the immigration debate should see this movie. It's 17 minutes long but it's worth watching, no matter what side of the debate you're on.
Do you think those facts should be taken into account when we talk about immigration reform?

I'm serious. I'm not racist, and I don't care if they don't speak English because I speak fluent Spanish. I just get upset and confused when I see someone say, "This is America, this country was built by immigrants, we have a right to be here..."

Why? Why us? No other country just lets people in. I can't just wake up one morning and move to France; they wouldn't let me stay. Truth is, most other countries have much harsher immigration laws than America. So, why does everyone think we can just let everyone else in?

"America was built by immigrants" is a lame excuse. Technically, every country was built by immigrants at one time or another. How old does this country need to be before we can just be a country like all the others?

My mother is a citizen of Ireland, but she became a citizen after I was born. Therefore, I am not eligible for Irish citizenship. However, can my mother as an EU citizen sponsor me for a residency visa (complete with employment rights) in the United Kingdom, Ireland, or any EU country for that matter? She currently resides in the United States, would she need to live in the EU to sponsor me?

What do you believe will be the final outcome of this important debate over the future of "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" ?
There are many amendments being proposed, much rhetoric, and a lot of passionate debate over the integral sovereignity of this nation, What do you think the final bill will look like? Will it pass the House of Representatives? Will it be full of pork and bull****?
Will it actually be enforcable? Will this bill if passed into law cost more than it is worth?
What do you know of this proposed bill and the debate which is ongoing over it?

...or are all people on American soil covered regardless of their citizenship status? If you think only American citizens are protected, then why do we keep detainees indefinitely in Gitmo? (Note: The Constitution prohibits indefinite detentions through the 'right to a speedy trial'). Lastly, if the Constitution applies to everyone on American soil, don't illegal aliens also deserve Constitutional rights (after all, the 1993 World Trade Center bombers got them)
