NOPE. YOU DONT GET CITIZENSHIP, YOU CAN BECOME A LEGAL RESIDENT ONLY. ITS NOT THAT EASY, YOU HAVE TO HAVE SEVERAL INTERVIEWS BECAUSE THEY (IMMIGRATION) WANTS TO MAKE SURE THIS IS A REAL MARRIAGE & NOT ONLY TO GET PAPERS. SOMETIMES IT TAKES UP TO A YEAR

No not right away, unless you happen to marry a diplomat. last I heard, it took a minimum of six months. It takes as long as it takes for them to get around to checking you out and finding out if you married just for the citizenship. These days they are so overburdened and understaffed no telling how long that could take. You must also stay married a certain number of years, or else you do not get full citizenship and will theoretically be sent back to where you came from. I say theoretically because there are now thousands of illegal immigrants living openly in this country, and there doesn't seem to be a thing they can do about it.

After you get married the immigrant gets a conditional Green Card. After two years of marriage the immigrant gets an unconditional Green Card. After three years of marriage the immigrant can file an application for citizenship. It could take another year or more for the citizenship process to be completed.

The answer to your question is no. However, you can apply for us residency which is granted conditionally/temporarily if the marriage is less than 2 yrs old. 3 months prior to your temporary residency expiring you will need to submit form I-751 to become a permanent resident once this is grant you can then submit application for citizen anytime between then and a 10 yr period. Good luck

it takes from one to three weeks for the paperwork to go through, but it's pretty quick.
