With all due respect to the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish do you think England should seek some form of independence from the other home nations. I'm not suggesting giving independence to Scotland etc thats a different issue, i'm saying should we cut loose from the rest of the UK. The other home nations are getting louder shouting for independence and i for one fully agree with that right but an Independent England? Tell me your point of view based on what part of the UK you live in. Scotland, Wales and N.I. could all stay together if they so wished, this is about England.

England needs to be independent.
I am fed up with all the subsidies handed out to the Celts.
I am fed up with The English being treated as 3rd class citizens within the "Union".
The West Lothian Question, where Scottish MPs vote on English Issues. But English MPs cant vote in the Scottish Parliament.
The Barnett Formula, that sees the Scots having approx £1,500 per year spent on them over and above what the English have.
Top up Fees.
Treatment available to the Scots on the NHS that is not available in England.
And now Road Pricing.
England desperately needs Independence., the first step is to have an English Parliament.
We would not need a new building, just use Westminster!

Good luck to the Scots in their bid for Independence.
I am Not anti Scottish, just opposed to the outdated unjust Union.

I live in rural oxford shire.. All this talk of Independence is just so much hot air!. I don't want GREAT BRITAIN to be broken up so that a few welsh and Scots nationalist can ruin something which has stood the test of time!.

Great Britain is great because its of the sum of the whole, England northern Ireland Scotland and Wales.. NOTHING ELSE Will do.... EVER!

I am with you there - I am proud to be English - but sometimes people seem to think you are being awkward or even racist against the Scots, Welsh and Irish, not so, I am a Lancashire lass born and bred.
I am tired of being treated with disdain when I go to Scotland, Wales - I have only been to Ireland once - only to be insulted and told to go back to where I came from.
I personally have nothing against anyone regarding race, culture, colour creed etc., but it seems to me that I cannot say that I am proud to be English without a backlash of insults and being blamed for all the wrong doings of history and the so called National Front.
Now I have got that off my chest - anyone for tea lol

Frankly, no. the international's countries strengthen in means & length, the final element we'd desire to do now could be cut back... we've already granted a million/third of the earth independence from our Empire, enable's no longer cut back any further! Us & the Scots might have our squabbles yet we are better at the same time. If England & Scotland have been to chop up it might merely advise granting Brussels greater means over us, would not sound like independence to me.

It is about time that England became independent - money has always poured into the other three countries within the UK from Westminster (can we include Wales as in the UK though as that country is a Principality). Maybe we should set up each county as a seperate country - as in days gone by when we had Kingdoms of Wessex, Mercia, etc etc!

as a scot i believe any one of the home nations would be damaged if it were to go it alone. however devolved parliment is probably a beter way for you to go. westminister only cares for london anyway and doesnt care as much about the rest of us
