Is the main problem with Illegal Immgration the fact that it is illegal?
I've seen answers to other questions that the real problem is that our economy cannot stand immigration from the issues of welfare, taxes, and etc.
Or are people simply attempting to find another fault in the government?
Why is Illegal Immigration an issue today?

I just read a story that shows how far a liberal judge will go. The people of FARMERS BRANCH, Texas passed a ordnace that said that people who rent out proprety must make sure you are a legal resident of this country. The Hispanic s & the ACLU brought a law suit claming discremanation. The judge granted a injunction. The Aclu said it would cause a hardship to families of legals who have ILLEGALS living with them/HUH?? So it is ok for someone breaking the law not to be deported because it would be a hardship on those who know they are breaking the law. I guess I will rob a bank & move in with my brother because he w9ill not be introuble because allthiugh he did nit do the robbery he knew I did but did nothing about it. does that make any since??. Isnt that what the court & the ACLU saying about Illegals renting in FARMERS BRANCH Texas??

Who would you rather have in America?
A) An illegal alien who works
B) A ghetto gang member drug dealer who is an american citizen

I say we give all the B's to mexico and take as many A's as we can get. Mexico seems to like drug dealers, so send ours down there! America seems to like workers, so lets take some! But we can only take the A's if we can give away the B's.

A federal judge in Texas imposed a restraining order on an ordinace that was passed last month by the voter in Farmer Branch, TX. The law required landlords to have potential renters to provide documentation proving that the person doing the renting was a citizen or a legal alien of the U.S.

This ordinance was passed in an election. 37% of the population of Farmers Branch, TX is Hispanic. Do you think a federal judge has the right (I didn't say authority) to override an ordinance passed by the population of a city?

I'm tired of courts stepping in and telling governemtns what they can and can't do. They want to stop a town from making it illegal to rent to illegal aliens? They are illegal, they have broken the law, but we can't stop from renting to them? Hey Charles Manson want to rent my house, courts say it's ok.

If you want to stop illegal aliens you have to hit them where it hurts. Fine and imprison employers who hire them and make it illegal to rent to them. Can't work and no place to live they will go home and apply for legal status.

Below are just a sample of the fees paid in the process of obtaining a “green card” (not citizenship) when a person immigrates legally. They are only paperwork expenses and do not include misc. costs incurred in obtaining necessary documentation required, (i.e. long form birth certificates, police/fingerprint checks, etc etc) which run into the hundreds of dollars on their own. These are just the initial application USCIS fees and do not include the hundreds of $$$ in forms/fees that are imposed by the Dept of State which must also be paid in full before a green card is issued.
Fiance application – $455 or
Relative application – $355
Biometrics - $70
Adjustment of Status – $1010 (for PR)
Advanced parole (travel) – $305
Medical exam $200-$300 + vaccination costs
Remove conditions $545 + more biometrics
Employment authorization $340

Given this info, is it excessive to ask someone who is illegal to pay $1000 and do a background check to be able to live and work here?

Hi, I'm an immigrant and I'm trying to put together a book to help other immigrants to create a successful life for theirself in the United States. I want to help people to avoid the mistakes I made when I first moved here. I'm looking for intelligents tips, such as where to get cheap medical cares, good websites, where to get free English classes, which banks are the most friendly toward immigrants, which organizations work to help immigrants to integrate the US in a better way and so on...
Wether you are an immigrant yourself or not, thanks a lot for all your tips in advance!

Why doesn't the U.S. government pick up all these invaders and put them to work at the border building a wall with no wage until they have worked enough hours to pay for the $5000 fine that they are supposed to pay for crossing the border illegally? Then they can be put back in their own country that they think is so wonderful! Adios!

Just think, 12 million workers that won't cost the government anything to prevent further invasion attempts!

I've read many comments from anti-illegals on here and it seems to me that there is quite a bit of animostiy and hatred toward illegals as a group and not the illegal immigration situation. Shouldn't we be mad at our government for letting the situation get out of hand? Yet I read so many racist, stereotypical comments and this doesn't reflect well on americans. We have more compassion than that! Why can't we be adult and hate the situation and not the people?? I hate smoking, but I don't hate smokers...I understand that they have an addiction however bad it may be. I don't like the illegal immigration situation but I certainly don't hate the people.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Republicans call it the Eleventh Commandment, and presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo is breaking it. Tancredo said today in New Hampshire that he will work against fellow Republicans who support an immigration bill he considers a sellout.

Republicans say 'Thou shall not speak ill against another Republicans' is their Eleventh Commandment.

Tancredo says he will use his presidential campaign to start a petition drive and volunteer network to mobilize voters against senators who support the White House-backed immigration plan. The bill provides a pathway to citizenship to the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States. Tancredo says the bill will grant amnesty to more than 15 million illegal aliens, bankrupt Social Security and do nothing to secure the borders."

What do you think?

I have a BA and two MA from Ivy League institutions. I only deal with illegal immigrants in the service sector when they are serving me. I have a congenial relationship with those immigrants who work in my neighborhood because I have lived in Latin America and speak excellent Spanish. These immigrants have little hope of attaining the education needed to work at my place of employment.

Are all the anti-immigrant people afraid of immigrants taking their job in dire need of an education and leaving the service sector? America has great opportunities for the native born Americans. why aren't people taking advantage of it?

Yup...that's what the staffer at Sen. Kennedy's office said.

I basically told her that had the government been doing their jobs all along, we wouldn't be in this mess.

So, she told me that we need this bill so that we CAN secure our borders...

I asked her why we have to grant amnesty so that as a sovereign nation we can secure our borders?

This isn't amnesty she said..

Ha ha...even the staffers are delusional...amazing!

So this new immigration reform will let illegal-alien gang members sign a “renunciation of gang affiliation” statement, and then everything is okay and they can obtain a visa? Who do I write to to tell them they are an idiot for thinki....you know what never mind.

If only taxpayers funded campaigns, then our 'leaders' would not be pushing legislation for special interests.

For example, our 'leaders' would write and pass the law for national id cards first, before closing the border. If you needed a card to work, to receive any benefits (U.S. taxpayer money), or to do anything in our country, millions would leave...VOLUNTARILY!

Our 'leaders' don't make campaigns funded by taxpayers the law because THEY WERE ELECTED WITH THE CURRENT SYSTEM. But they are obligated to the few who put them into office, and those people want cheap labor.

They seem to think that they own this country and can do whatever they want to greedily, selfishly transfer wealth from the U.S. taxpayer to themselves, as they force taxpayers to pay for the benefits to illegal and legal immigrants, and destroy our wildlife/forests/wide open spaces/groundwater.

You don't have to separate families. When aliens leave, they can take their anchor babies with them.

You know, make them have a minimum wage, equivilant to ours, and develop the country down there..so the illegals can go home,...dollar for dollar, I bet that it would cost less than our government is spending now, to keep them here...

There is only documented and undocumented. The same way America was founded, others should be able to come in, take your charity, after you help them through the winter, then poison you for being heathens, no? It's the American way!
