Current wait time is approxiamately 20-25 years to get processed, would you wait patiently outside the country to be with your family in America for this period of time and if you miss the random surprise interview date which comes up any time after 20-25 years be happy to start the time frame wait period all over again as required by the INS?

Disadvantages of Immigration:
• Greater poverty Because illegal immigrants occupy low income employment, their wages are low and they are more affected by downturns in the economy. In comparison to natives, they do not to have health insurance and need to resort to public assistance.
• More educational costs: Illegal immigrant children account for a disproportionate amount of public education costs than do natives due to the greater birth rate for Hispanics. Illegal immigrants have significantly lower educational attainment than do citizens and legal immigrants • Increased danger of terrorism Some argue that the continued ability of illegal immigrants to enter the country increases the threat of domestic terrorism. In reality, the threat is minimal. The known dangers associated with terrorism involve Islamic individuals and even citizens of the United States, ie. hate groups (KKK, White Supremist Groups, and individuals ie Timothy McVeigh etc.

This is currently the situation in America, as you know, and one reason why I disagree with it is because of the economic impact that it has.

Illegals are ineligible for some public assistance programs, but are able to receive them on behalf of their American-born baby. If a guestworker/amnesty plan was initiated, it would invite and retain mostly low-income workers who are the people who use them, thus significantly increasing the cost to taxpayers. Currently, approximately 24.9% of illegal aliens receive some sort of major welfare benefit.

Some people have used the basically racist argument, "Mexicans don't use welfare because they actually work!" In actuality, low-income workers or their children are eligible for most welfare programs, as some can only be used by those who work, while others use them while looking for employment.
Even when they have lived in the US for many years, immigrants, legal or otherwise, use welfare programs at double the rate of natives. Your take?

But people from foreign countries, can come here illegally,..get on the welfare rolls, and we welcome them with open arms..this is NOT fair to people who did at one time pay taxes. and I don't mind if MY taxes help poor families out here..but why does the government go after American families, for fraud on Welfare, and ignore the fact that the Illegals who have crawled up here, ...get all the benifits, and are criminals

I love kids. I would have liked to have had 5 or more but I only had 2 because I couldn't afford any more. If Mexicans are so poor why do they have so many kids. Do they consider birth control a sin? Many catholics in this country practice it. Its just common human sense not to have children you have to go to another country to feed. Everyone deserves 1 or 2 though.

I don't have a problem with Mexicans coming here looking for a better life, that's what this country is all about. Just do it legally. And, if you are an illegal, do not compare yourself to the people who came to Ellis Island. You have nothing in common with them. They came here in the middle of the day and went through the process, to the letter. Sneaking across the border in the middle of the night, hiding from the police, doesn't sound like Ellis Island to me. Just do it legally and I'll personally put out the welcome mat.

Do you know that our ‘leaders’ could send millions of illegal aliens packing, costing us nothing in deportation fees?

What most U.S. taxpayers don’t know is that trillions of your dollars are used to pay off the wealthy people who fund elections, many of whom are not even U.S. citizens. If only taxpayers funded campaigns, then our 'leaders' would not be pushing legislation for special interests, and it would save us trillions of dollars!!

For example, our 'leaders' would write and pass the law for national id cards first, before closing the border. If illegal employers were arrested and fined every day, and if everyone needed a card to work, to receive any benefits (U.S. taxpayer money), or to do anything in our country, millions would leave...VOLUNTARILY! Tens of millions of us would join an organization to quell riots if they broke out—call it the National Guard II to replace the one our ‘leaders’ recklessly exported to Iraq, or call it something new.
