The whole world is responsible, But the rest of the world likes to blame America for everything, while they continue to mine Cole in the U.K. build cars in Germany, manufacture airplanes in France, etc. They all feel we should sacrifice our economy to stop global warming, but they refuse to sacrifice theirs. When Europe had a global warming summit without America to blame, they quickly turned on each other, and accomplished nothing. As for reparations, they use our products and we use theirs , and we already came up with the Marshal plan, so they don't get squat.

America is actually not one mainly responsible. First off, global warming doesn't exist, do people not realize that the sun is hotter than it ever has been? does that not have anything to do with how hot the earth is? and also what happened to the global cooling in the 70's... its all just a cycle... Secondly, China is expected to pass us this year in emissions, that means that no matter how much we try to eliminate our emissions it wont do anything because China will be emitting more than we are. Also, America's emissions are growing linearly, in a line, whereas china is building as many coal plants as they have room for. China's emissions are rising parabolicly, meaning that they are growing enormously compared to us. Therefore we are not responsible to something that isn't happening and if it is happening no matter what we do it won't help any because there is no way China is going to stop building coal plants and emitting because that would destroy their economy.

yes it is because america has the largest carbon footprint of any country in the world. It uses the most energy, due to how advanced it is in terms of economic development. I dont think it pays any reparations though...

Might as well say it is because America gets blamed for everything else wrong in the world.

No way that we alone are responsible.Every time something goes wrong it is always our fault. When some country needs help, who do they call? The US of course. I am tired of being blamed for everything on the planet that goes wrong.....

Absolutely. Because our country is so big, and our economy is so dependent on the auto industry, the government is scared that if there are limits on mileage etc. then auto industry will implode. Europe, and Asia, the two other predominate technological cultures, don't pollute nearly as much as we.

No, the whole industrialized world is aggravating and adding to something that happens cyclically.

if you compare the amount of pollution created with the population then america is the biggest polluter. but if you forget population then china and india is worse. but considering their populations i'm not surprised.
