I don't have a problem with Mexicans coming here looking for a better life, that's what this country is all about. Just do it legally. And, if you are an illegal, do not compare yourself to the people who came to Ellis Island. You have nothing in common with them. They came here in the middle of the day and went through the process, to the letter. Sneaking across the border in the middle of the night, hiding from the police, doesn't sound like Ellis Island to me. Just do it legally and I'll personally put out the welcome mat.

Good one! ma y I add my husband escaped communist Hungary in 1971.He went through all of the proper channels to come to the US. He spent 1 year in a refugee camp in Italy waiting to be cleared by Interpol. If he can do it why not the Mexicans? My father and his parents came through Ellis Island,it didn't kill them!It made them really appiceate being Americans!

Why is not the issue of the fact that people want to move to other countries, because other countries have better lives, being addressed?

Every way of coming to America should be legal. There should be no need for crossing the border as there should not be borders.

No American can hop, skip & jump to any country they want to without going through the proper procedures - it should be no different for a foreigner coming to America....the U.S.A. always leaves the light on & has the door unlocked for 24/7 visitors, but it is a crminal act & should not be tolerated....

BY THE TIME OF THE CIVIL WAR IN BETWEEN THE NORTH AND SOUTH ,IMIGRANT FROM EUROPE WERE ARRIVING IN MASS LOOKING FOR THE AMERICAN DREAM BUT THE UNION STOP THEM IN NEW YORK HARBOUR ASKING THEM FOR 500U$ to get in !!
of course non of them got that money by that time !! that amount of money is like 50.0000 u$ from now !!
because they didn't have the money they give them the chance to stay if they join the union army to fight against the confederate !!!
that is the kind of legal immigration you talking about!!

I couldn't have said it better myself. Why can't they see this. Its not about not wanting them here, its about following the law. Don't pick and choose the laws you feel like following. What does that say about you as an immigrant? Just do it the way it needs to be done and I also will welcome you all.

If you gotta eat, you gotta eat. ...Oh and, they say if you do show up some how, will give you a job. That's your rich business people at work.

Interest in this country have to get there act together on how we deal with Mexico and there population. The US is as much to blame for this migration as the Mexican Government.

To curse the people caught in between is unfair and unrighteous.
