I have applied again for the second time and Denied. The consul didn't bother to look at any of my documents and assumed already that I have a bad intention in applying. This time I have another reason different from the first time. My first reason is to see my daughter and her family and my second reason is to participate in the especial event of our main company. In my itenerary it was stated that I will also visit my daughter which is just natural I think. But still the consul did not grant my request. Yes I know that is their job but how can I prove that I do not want to live there because I have my own country and my family is here. Yes I have my daughter there but she has her own family already and I don't want to mingle with them. All I want is just a plain visit and hug them. Can somebody out there teach me what to do or say the next time I apply again. I am already old and a little bit weak already. I want to see the US, the country of my grandchildren before I di

worse type of people...The good Mexicans don't want to come here. The good Hondurans don't want to come here. The good Nicaraguans don't want to come here. Only the losers who can't even find a job in their own country that come here, that is the problem. That is why the crime rate is high in the predominently mexican community. That is why the Mexican government won't do anything to stop this illegal migration, the Mexican government don't want these people. Just like if we take all the people on foodstamp and welfare and all the criminals in this country and dump them on Mexico. They would not like it, I guarantee that...Agree or Disagree?

do you think that if people educated themselves better since as citizens there is that opportunity the competition among illegals and citizens would stop?what do you think?

If a business was forced to pay at least minimum wage or a competitive wage, stopped paying their CEO's exhurburant amounts of money for not doing much, and paid taxes accordingly instead of getting insane amounts of tax breaks, would jobs that most citizens would not take and illegals would take, seem more appealing for citizens? I don't think it's a question of citizens flat out refusing to work jobs, but it's that businesses don't want to pay for it or give benefits they would have to give an american citizen.

I have been wondering this for some time. See, I live in the States and many people here say that we have an illegal immigration problem (Mostly Mexico). Some civilians have even gone to the point of patrolling the border voluntarily.

Now for the question. Is this a major problem in Europe as well?

I mean, there are more borders that can be crossed illegally so you would figure that it could be a potentially larger problem. Just wondering.

I'm doing a paper on the effects of illegal immigration on economy, but everywhere I search I usually get the effects of people who get into the country illegally, not the visa overstayers. Can you give either a link to a website or a detailed explanation of the effect of visa overstayers on the econonmy, thanks.

A group of Hispanic people in Reno have called for a three-day boycott of all businesses in northern Nevada after a federal raid in which 54 suspected illegal workers were arrested.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on Thursday raided 11 McDonald's restaurants owned by Reno businessman Luther Mack, leading to the arrests of several employees.
"We feel we Latinos have been bushwhacked, charred and ICE'd by our government," said Gilbert Cortez, president of Casa Latina Centro de Informacion, that "This land belongs to God and not to the United States."
Mack said he originally hired the workers and was surprised that people would lash out at him and his business on their behalf. "I was rather surprised and in fact hurt," Mack said. "I got victimized by the people I was trying to help. I got caught between a rock and hard spot, but I understand.

Is illegal immigration a crime or not? And if it is a crime are those guilty of violating our laws criminals or not? And if there are too many illegal aliens in this country to deport, why are those who are apprehended after committing a crime, even a felony, not reported to immigration authorities and jailed or deported? The execution-style murder of three African-American college students in Newark, NJ is a case in point. Forced to kneel they were shot in the head, allegedly by an illegal alien from Peru who was out on bail for the serial rape of a 5-year-old.What recourse do American citizens have when they are victims of violent crimes committed by a growing number of illegal aliens? The courts? Don't count on it. The federal government? Ditto.Writing in the City Journal in 2004 Heather Mac Donald reported that "most violent criminals at large today are illegal aliens." One example of a city where illegal aliens are major contributors to crime is Los Angeles. In LA she writes, "the police cannot use the most obvious tool to apprehend them: their immigration status. For example, dozens of members of a ruthless Salvadoran prison gang have sneaked back into town after having been deported for such crimes as murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and drug trafficking. Police officers know who they are and know that their mere presence in the country is a felony. Yet should a cop arrest an illegal gang-banger for felonious reentry, it is he who will be treated as a criminal, for violating the LAPD's rule against enforcing immigration law."

I say illegal because he was here illegally, working illegally and admitted to not paying any taxes whatsoever!

For 11 years, Pedro Zapeta, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, lived his version of the American dream in Stuart, Florida: washing dishes and living frugally to bring money back to his home country.

Two years ago, Zapeta (an illegal immigrant) was ready to return to Guatemala, so he carried a duffel bag filled with $59,000 -- all the cash he had scrimped and saved over the years -- to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

But when Zapeta tried to go through airport security, an officer spotted the money in the bag and called U.S. customs officials.

"They asked me how much money I had," Zapeta recalled, speaking to CNN in Spanish.

He told the customs officials $59,000. At that point, U.S. customs seized his money, setting off a two-year struggle for Zapeta to get it back.

Total annual cost of illegals on taxpayers exceeds $1 billion .

LA County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has announced that a new report shows illegal aliens and their families in Los Angeles County collected over $35 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in July.

In the report, illegals are said to have collected nearly $20 million in welfare assistance for July 2007 and an additional $15 million in monthly food stamp allocations for an estimated annual cost of $440 million.

“Illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers,”said Antonovich. “In addition to $220 million for public safety and $400 million for healthcare, the $440 million in welfare allocations bring the total cost to County taxpayers that exceeds $1 billion a year -- this does not include the skyrocketing cost of education.”
