My husband is from bangladesh and came to the uk in the year 2002. We are going to apply for his Naturalisation as a British Citizen, but only problem is that his existing passport (bangladesh passport) has expired in the year 2006 and we need to know, if this would have to be renewed or not before we could apply for his British Citizenship?

thanks for all answers in advance!

As the flood of ILLEGAL immigrants rises in the USA, the government seems to turn a deaf ear towards the worries of American citizens about the effects on employment, environment, and other resources. Do you think that citizens will become so fed up that they will take matters into their own hands in numbers larger than the minuteman groups? Do you predict another "civil war" between citizens and illegals? I would like to know what your predictions are for this country if things keep going the way they are. Please try not to make this a racial thing this is about American citizens and Illegal immigrants regardless of what race they all are. Thank You!

Ok,the way got into the U.S was on the VWP.. but I arrived in the USA with my U.S citizen husband and our 9 month old son who was born in the UK,and some people on here are rather harsh,I never did anything illegal whilst I lived in the U.S I didnt work illegally,I only worked with a valid work permit, and I paid Taxes during my almost 5 years in the USA.. So its not like a came into the country un-inspected by an immigration officer. I do understand there are rules,I get that I do,and I love america for those because it keeps everyone safe, however I am no threat to america or its citizens,I`m just a spouse of an american citizen and a mother of a soon to be U.S citizen who just wants to get back with her family as soon as possible,I had no idea that the goverment would keep a family apart.

Ok,I overstayed on the visa waiver programe however I am a british citizen married to a U.S citizen to whom I`ve been married to for 7 years now and we have a son together who`s citizen paperwork is pending with the USCIS so basically because of those factors and the fact that my husband needs me to get back home to him and our son as quickly as possible as if I don`t it will cause great hardship to all 3 of us,will the immigration authority grant me admissibility on those basis?

Didn’t the mainstream media report that 2006’s vast immigration rallies across the country began as a spontaneous uprising of 2 million angry Mexican-flag waving illegal immigrants demanding U.S. citizenship in Los Angeles, egged on only by a local Spanish-language radio announcer?Turns out that wasn’t what happened, either. Soros’ OSI had money-muscle there, too, through its $17 million Justice Fund. The fund lists 19 projects in 2006. One was vaguely described involvement in the immigration rallies. Another project funded illegal immigrant activist groups for subsequent court cases.

So what looked like a wildfire grassroots movement really was a manipulation from OSI’s glassy Manhattan offices. The public had no way of knowing until the release of OSI’s 2006 annual report.

Many of my friends have tried to answer this in discussion, but no-one has come across actual evidence to prove whether it is or is not possible. Any help and proof would be great.

Thanks

Growing up on the border I saw first-hand what illegal immigrants TEND to do (there are exceptions)

1. farm worker
2. restaurant worker (usually busser, dishwasher)
3. maid / janitor
4. yard work
5. handyman / repairer (lawnmowers, etc...)
6. fast food worker
7. grocery stocker
8. construction worker (roads, parking lots etc..., not fancy stuff like buildings)
9. house painter
10. mover

And on and on and on. Generally these are low paying jobs that don't pay a competitive wage for what most American citizens think they're worth, and therefore most of us aren't in competition with them for these jobs, except teenagers, etc... I worked fast food and grocery for 5 years but now that I have a college degree there's no way in HELL I'll ever do that again.
It's our own tightfistedness that keeps illegal immigrants coming. Is it wrong that I'd rather pay $1500 to get my house painted than $5000? (just an example) I think we are causing our own problem.

I think that the immigration debate does not make sense. Why do people want a fence on the border? I think that will accomplish only 3 things: 1) shift migration to another area or to other methods, 2) upset people who have land on the border, 3) damage the flora and fauna of the region. It won't accomplish the goal of ending illegal immigration.

What people don't understand is that the border is a greater region with an arbitrary line through it. Millions cross legally everyday to and from both sides. Also, if people are crossing illegally, they are doing so for a reason. I would argue that the benefits of cheap labor far outweigh the costs of providing them social services (which generally they don't use, but their kids do - mostly health care and education).

My dad was a farmer in south TX - he could not have run his business paying farm workers $10 or even $5.85 an hour, plus social security, medicare, etc... You tell me how agriculture in the U.S. would survive.

There is no law in Mexico that makes it illegal to enter the US illegally. In fact, the Mexican government incourages it. Why can't the US government put pressure on the Mexican government to outlaw illegal immigration into the US?

I think the answer must be yes. We profited from exploitation under 'The Empire' and owe a debt to the races that come here. It is not a guestion of them integrating with us but more us accepting them and hoping they forgive us for the past.
